Wednesday night saw Leeds United pick up another three points, once again in rather comfortable fashion following their 2-0 win over Norwich City.
Manor Solomon continued his scoring streak with a goal and an assist against Norwich City, with Dan James scoring in the second half to take his season tally to seven.
It’s a back-to-back wins for Daniel Farke’s side after starting the New Year with back-to-back draws. Leeds remain in 1st place of the Championship table with the gap to Burnley in 3rd opening up to three points.
Whilst the going is getting better in the league, Leeds United still have some transfer priorities to deal with. Leeds United are yet to sign anyone in this January transfer window but have overseen the loan exits of Joe Gelhardt and Charlie Crew.
It’s not for a lack of linked players, though. Going into January, 19 players were linked with Leeds United. Since then, several more have been added to Farke’s transfer wishlist. But one player who the Whites have been looking at for a while is Mike Tresor at Burnley.
Mike Tresor omitted from Burnley squad after huge Leeds United update
Leeds United have been linked with Tresor for several weeks now. The 25-year-old joined Burnley in a £16million deal from Genk in 2023 but he failed to record a single goal contribution in 16 Premier League games in 2023/24.
And he’s yet to feature in the league in 2024/25. But the Belgian made his long-awaited return from injury in Burnley’s FA Cup win over Reading earlier in January.
Tresor was then left out of the squad to face Sunderland in the game following that Reading clash. After, it was revealed that Burnley want to sell Tresor before deadline day and that Leeds were among the teams interested.
Clarets boss Scott Parker then decided to leave Tresor out of his Burnley squad once again. Burnley beat Plymouth Argyle 5-0 on Wednesday but Tresor was nowhere to be seen.

Scott Parker’s confusing Mike Tresor claims at Burnley
Parker has said all along that he thinks Tresor is a quality player. Then after the Reading game, in which the left-sided attacker grabbed an assist of the bench, Parker was full of praise for Tresor and said that he’ll look to give him more football.
But Tresor hasn’t featured since and now Burney have made the decision that they do want to sell him before February 3rd. Leeds though might be wary of paying big for a player who’s completely lacking match fitness.
It’d be an expensive coup for the Whites given how much Burnley paid for him. But it’s an exciting link to keep an eye on nonetheless.
