Leeds United are yet to get going in this January transfer window. Worryingly for supporters, the Whites’ top six rivals seem to be making some really positive moves in the market.

Leeds United fans are waiting to see what their side does in this January transfer window. But more than two weeks in and we’re yet to see anyone really come close to making the move to Elland Road.

There’s been plenty of names though. We’re not short of players being linked with moves to West Yorkshire with at least 19 players linked with Leeds United right now, with new names mentioned almost everyday.

Daniel Farke looks like he has a few key positions to bolster. Illan Meslier’s Leeds future is in doubt and so we could see a goalkeeper signing in January, as well as a centre-back signing with numbers particularly light at the back.

Meanwhile, it’s been claimed that Leeds could bolster their front-line with a handful of strikers linked, including Middlesbrough’s Emmanuel Latte Lath.

Door remains open for Leeds United to swoop in for Emmanuel Latte Lath

Leeds United News first revealed Leeds United’s interest in Latte Lath at Middlesbrough. So far this season the bustling forward has scored 10 goals in the Championship, but now looks set to leave the Riverside after one-and-a-half years at the club.

Recent reports have hinted that Leeds United have given up on Latte Lath who’s been heavily linked with a record-breaking move to the MLS, to join Mateusz Klich’s Atlanta United in a bit of a shock move.

But there may be a final chance for the Whites to make their move with Sky Sports reporting that Middlesbrough want a replacement lined up before they give the green light to Latte Lath’s £18million move to Atlanta.

That fee would make the 26-year-old Ivorian the most expensive player in MLS history.

Michael Carrick verdict on Emmanuel Latte Lath interest

Speaking recently, Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick discussed interest in Latte Lath, and it appears as though the former Manchester United man is accepting the fact that his star striker could leave any day now.

Carrick said: “You never know what’s out there and what’s going to come, who’s going to offer what. That’s not just about Manu, that’s any player.

“It’s a transfer window and anyone can offer what they want. So for me to sit here and say I’m confident or I’m not confident [of keeping Latte Lath], it doesn’t really matter or affect it, because we’ve no idea what might come.”

Farke is thought to be content with his striking options. But Joel Piroe, Mateo Joseph, and Patrick Bamford doesn’t seem like a lot, especially with Bamford currently injured. Another forward signing would certainly be helpful but at £18million, Latte Lath may well be out of the Whites’ price range for now.

Leeds are back in Championship action on Sunday, welcoming Sheffield Wednesday to Elland Road.
