Don Hutchinson can see major transfer come to fruition at Leeds United as Premier League-winning star linked

Leeds United could have the chance to sign a Premier League winner this summer if they plan their cards right.

Daniel Farke would love some Premier League pedigree in his squad as they gear up for the top flight.

That seems to be the element Leeds are missing at the moment, as only a few have proven their worth in the big time.

This is the exact reason why the 49ers want Premier League targets and that seems to be the strategy this window.

Dan James and Joe Rodon come under the category of having slight pedigree, but Don Hutchinson thinks they can go all out for an all-time great.

Don Hutchinson believes Jamie Vardy joining Leeds United is ‘possible’

A name that will continue to come up on Farke’s radar is Jamie Vardy.

Vardy has been linked to Leeds and could prove to be the exact type of striker they need to achieve safety next campaign.

The striker played his final game for Leicester City against Ipswich Town on Sunday and ended his career with the Foxes in style, with 200 goals in 500 games, which speaks volumes to what Farke needs to do.

Well, now pundit and former Everton player Hutchinson believes that Leeds should strike whilst the opportunity is there.

Speaking to Premier League Productions, Hutchinson said: “Does he think he can do something at Leeds? You never know. Maybe he thinks that’s possible.”

What Vardy has said about staying in the Premier League as Leeds linked

With Vardy now at 38, it always comes with risk to sign a player on what will likely be excessive wages for one season.

But the striker’s play style proves he can keep going for years through his explosive energy, and nine goals in the top flight this season has already proven he’s still a threat.

Even though Leeds fans don’t want Vardy, it would be silly not to even consider the prospect of the striker joining.

This comes with more reason after Vardy said he’d stay in the Premier League, and with a team battling relegation probably being his standard, a move to Elland Road could be a match made in heaven.
