Daniel Farke is building something special at Leeds United, but the performances now need to show.
Leeds’ opening friendly against Man United was a success with a solid performance ending 0-0.
Sean Longstaff looked solid, and Jaka Bijol impressed as the 49ers’ early signings are proving to be useful.
The Premier League will reveal their true ability though, as it will be the biggest test of many players’ careers.
But the key to this is finding players who have already embarked on the top-flight stage, as Chelsea have given Leeds an opportunity.

Chelsea’s ‘preference’ on Leeds United target Marc Guiu
£150m can be spent by Leeds, with over £60m of the budget gone, as the 49ers will now need to spend big on their attack.
Midfielders and defenders have come into the frame as the squad’s structure seems to be in order, but now it’s a case of where the goals are going to come from.
Despite the Whites already having four strikers, another striker is set to join, with Joel Piroe’s efforts not enough for Farke to lead with him this season.
Patrick Bamford is also on the way out, as Bamford could join the MLS, so a new frontman will be needed.
Whether it’s experience or youth is another question, but in this scenario, Leeds could get a promising talent in the form of Chelsea’s Marc Guiu.
Guiu impressed in the Europa Conference League last season and emphasises why he could be the man to find the back of the net for Leeds.
With Leeds looking at a loan deal for Guiu, David Ornstein has revealed something which works entirely in the Whites’ favour.
Writing for The Athletic, Ornstein said that Chelsea have ‘rejected offers’ from clubs to sell the teenager to them, they are only looking at a loan, and their ‘preference’ for the striker is to play in England, which adds up in terms of a move to Yorkshire this summer.

Leeds target Guiu has been likened to Luis Suarez
Despite Guiu only being 19, the Spaniard has shown exactly why Chelsea signed him from Barcelona.
There have been questions from Barcelona’s side of things as to why they let him go, especially after scoring as a 17-year-old on his LaLiga debut
This goal epitomises what Guiu is about, getting in behind the defence and being a clinical finisher, which could prove useful in Farke’s 4-3-3 set up.
The ‘fantastic’ Guiu has brilliant instincts at such a young age, and this was something that impressed Joe Cole last season, likening him to one Luis Suarez.
“This kid can score goals. He can be a big star for this club. How have Barcelona let him go? I liken Marc Guiu to Luis Suarez,” Cole said to TNT Sports in December 2024.
“I’m not saying he is Suarez now. But he has that instinct and bravery. I think he can go all the way. I think Barcelona have made a mistake!”
Leeds should listen to Cole, as although they need more experience, the way Guiu plays looks as though he’s been scoring goals for a long time.
