Leeds United will be hoping to strengthen their full-back area this transfer window as a former target looks set for a move after a failed transfer to Elland Road.

Leeds United are hoping to sign four players this window as Daniel Farke could improve his Leeds side.

Much has also been made of players’ outgoings as well this window with one example being Pascal Struijk receiving interest from Tottenham.

Plenty of elements to consider for Leeds even though Farke said it will be a quiet window at Elland Road. It’s been anything but that so far.

Despite no incomings yet, rumours are circulating, but Leeds fans might have seen a recent report that brings back bad memories from the last two summers.

Carlos Corberan set to sign Leeds target Max Aarons for Valencia

Carlos Corberan was recently appointed Valencia boss and is nailing down his first point of business to sign Bournemouth’s Max Aarons on loan according to journalist, Ben Jacobs.

Mixed feelings, as Leeds came close to signing Aarons for £12m before Bournemouth hijacked the transfer in the summer of 2023.

Aarons sent a message to Farke after rejecting the Leeds move thanking the manager for his work with him at Farke’s old club Norwich, as the German brought him through the Canaries’ academy.

Of course, his spell with the Cherries hasn’t worked out thus far prompting this loan move, as Leeds jumped back in for Aarons this summer but nothing came to fruition.

Despite this new revelation, Aarons would’ve wished he had chosen Leeds that summer instead of Bournemouth.

They were also linked in the summer of 2024 but nothing materialised.

Former Leeds coach Corberan leaves bitter feeling for Farke with Aarons deal

Despite the back and forth of whether Aarons should’ve picked Leeds or not this will no doubt hurt Farke.

The Leeds boss was hoping for a reunion with his former full-back but instead, former Leeds u23 manager and ex-assistant to Marcelo Bielsa, in Corberan, will be relishing him at Valencia.

Adding to this Farke could be in the market for a full-back after recent Jayden Bogle and Sam Byram struggles, alongside Junior Firpo who is only just returning from injury.

Despite Aarons’ poor form at Bournemouth, Farke got the best out of the full-back at Norwich which could have been replicated at Leeds.

A disappointing revelation for Farke who could now see his brilliant work in Aarons flourish under Corberan.
