Leeds United are so far struggling to get any deals over the line on deadline, despite links to a number of potential signings.
Leeds United are leaving their summer transfer business right till the very end. Although Daniel Farke and Leeds have signed 10 new players this summer, there’s a distinct need for more firepower.
Last time out, Leeds drew 0-0 with Newcastle United. It was a good defensive display, but Leeds fans are wondering where the goals will come from this season.
So far, the Whites have scored just one goal in three Premier League games this season. Speaking after Newcastle, though, Farke said Leeds United will try to sign attackers on deadline day.
But none are yet to arrive, with Bilal El Khannouss having now sealed a move to Bayer Leverkusen.

Leeds United see Julian Weigl move to Saudi Arabia
Along with El Khannouss, Leeds United look set to miss out on Emi Buendia and Gustavo Hamer, whilst Facundo Buonanotte has joined Chelsea. All four were key midfield targets going into deadline day. But earlier in the summer, reports claimed Julian Weigl was someone who Farke was particularly keen on.
After Leeds’ initial links to the German central midfielder, reports claimed that Weigl was a major transfer target for Leeds United this summer. But Weigl played down the possibility of moving to Leeds, and he’s now sealed a shock move to Saudi Arabia.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg says Al Qadsiah have an agreement with Borussia Monchengladbach to sign Weigl in a bargain £6.05m transfer, where the 29-year-old will earn a staggering £18.1m in wages over three years.
Why Daniel Farke won’t be worried on deadline day
Despite deadline day difficulties with Leeds struggling to sign anyone, and now turning their attentions to Harry Wilson in a last minute bid, Farke won’t be worried too much.
He won’t be concerned about the lack of a new no.10 arriving at Elland Road this summer and he won’t be concerned about the makeup of his midfield, with Leeds having signed some quality players this summer.
Earlier in the window, Leeds United completed deals for Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff, and against Newcastle last time out, Longstaff was Leeds United’s Man of the Match.
On top of that, Stach can operate as a more attacking midfielder if need be, with Ao Tanaka having moved further up the pitch to help combat the issue.
Whilst a new no.10 would’ve been nice, and whilst it would also have been nice to have brought in Weigl, Farke’s Leeds United squad still looks capable of competing.
