Leeds United target might have just handed Igor Paixao to Daniel Farke

Leeds United seem to be edging closer to the signing of Igor Paixao this summer.

Paixao is looking to be the long-term resolution for Leeds’ absence of Manor Solomon.

The Brazilian has impressed for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie, and Daniel Farke looks to top off what has been a successful transfer window so far.

An interested party alongside the Whites are Marseille, who made their view clear as Marseille have submitted their final bid for Paixao.

Now both clubs await the winger’s decision despite Leeds supposedly having a ‘done deal’ for Paixao, and because of this, Marseille might be tempted to go elsewhere.

Leeds United target Timothy Weah wants Marseille move

The winger spot seems to be the final piece of the 49ers’ puzzle this window, and Paixao ticks all the boxes.

Another target they had looked at before the 25-year-old was Timothy Weah, with Weah not part of Juventus’ plans.

The USA international seems to have made his choice, according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, who reports on his agent, Badou Sambague, speaking out on the winger’s future.

Sambague said: “Tim Weah, always professional, was sidelined during the World Cup. This person botched his World Cup, tried to force him to go where they (Juventus) wanted.

“Today, out of spite, they’re demanding a fortune and waiting for a Premier League offer that won’t come and will never be approved by us.”

Hawkins ended his post with ‘Weah wants to sign for Marseille’, which ends any chance of Leeds signing the attacker.

Although it’s a shame not to be signing the Pele-approved Weah, this situation can actually shed good light on Leeds’ winger situation.

Leeds were picking between Weah and Paixao, with it now being clear they only have one choice.

Weah decision gives Leeds the green light for Paixao

With Weah happy to make the move to Marseille, the situation has worked out in Leeds’ favour.

Previously, it was stated that Marseille were struggling to sign Paixao due to the financial constraints of the deal, which makes it obvious they wouldn’t be able to sign both wingers.

Now, with Weah forcing the move to the French side, Paixao might have been handed straight to Leeds, as Farke can utilise his qualities.

After Leeds were ‘ready to raise stakes’ for Paixao, they will be praying Feyenoord accept their next bid, with Weah’s move looking to solve this saga.

Paixao looks like the real deal, and despite not landing Weah themselves, Leeds can thank the American for his potential contribution.
