The Championship returns this weekend with Leeds United welcoming Swansea City to Elland Road. Daniel Farke was speaking to the press on Thursday afternoon.
Daniel Farke sat back down in front of the press ahead of Championship duty resuming, with the usual talk ahead of regular duties resuming.
Leeds United go into this game on the back of a 2-2 draw against QPR last time out. It’s a draw that allowed Sheffield United to move level on points and for Burnley to move to within just two points of the top spot.
Meanwhile, Swansea City have named Alan Sheehan as interim manager until the end of the season – the former midfielder spent time as a player with Leeds United between 2008 and 2010.
The Welsh outfit sit in 16th place of the Championship table right now. They’re a full 36 points behind leaders Leeds who’ve only won one of their last four now, coming after back-to-back wins against Sunderland and then Sheffield United.

Daniel Farke makes plea to Leeds United fans, again
Speaking earlier in the year, Farke asked for the support of the Elland Road crowd, to get his players riled up for the game. Needless to say, Leeds United fans were critical of Farke’s comments, instead asking that his players show the same desire on the pitch amid what’s been a rather patchy run of form.
But once again, Farke has made the same demand of the Leeds United fans. Speaking in his pre-Swansea City presser, Farke gave a rather confusing answer to how many points the club Leeds to be promoted; first saying four more wins before saying he doesn’t get drawn into such conversations.
The German said: “My experience is also, in the run in, don’t be too far ahead, just concentrate on the next game. So it’s not a point if you have right now a little point gap or you’re in the best position or whatever, it’s more like focus on being your best in the next game, and grinding out as many points as possible.
“One thing I can guarantee is if our home supporters help us, to sing us to four home wins, then 100% we will go up. There’s no doubt about this.”

Leeds United’s record vs Swansea City
Earlier in the season, Leeds United beat Swansea City 4-3, with Leeds having scored four goals in each of their last two games against the Swans, also winning their game against them at Elland Road 3-1 last season.
In fact, Leeds have won their last four against the Swans and have lost just one of their last seven against them, having only lost one home game against Swansea in the last 76 years.
It’s certainly a game that Leeds will be expecting to win. And it’s a chance for Joel Piroe to get one over his former club and to silence what’s been a lot of talk about the Dutchman recently.
Piroe has hinted at leaving Leeds United and possibly returning to former club PSV one day in the future – he has 15 goals to his name in the Championship this season.
