Daniel Farke is preparing his Leeds United side for a tough clash against Bristol City on Monday night with The Whites requiring two wins to win the Championship title on Saturday.
But, Farke could be in for a nasty surprise in the next week or two. The 49ers are said to be considering Farke’s future at Leeds, which has been met with a rather surprising reaction from the club’s supporters.
Despite accomplishing what The 49ers asked Farke to do, which is to gain promotion back to the Premier League, the German’s record in the Premier League is a cause for concern among the Leeds owners.
It is now claimed that The 49ers have drawn up a shortlist of potential replacements for Farke. Already, Cesc Fabregas has been touted with the Leeds job while Russell Martin is said to be interested in it.

The 49ers draw up three-man list of potential Farke replacements
According to The Guardian, Leeds have already made initial contact with three possible replacements if they do not choose to continue with Farke. The most-recognisable is that of Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
The former Rangers gaffer is without a club after a dismal stint in charge of Turkish side Besiktas. He was the man that guided Rangers to the Europa League final, having returned to a club he had played for.
The others are Carlo Ancelotti’s son and Real Madrid assistant, Davide, as well as former PSV and Benfica gaffer Roger Schmidt. This comes after reports said Leeds had chosen to stick with Farke this summer.

Why replacing Farke is detrimental to the current Leeds squad
The Leeds side have starred under Farke this year. The German has watched his side clock up a massive 184 points over the last two season, outdoing last season’s total by four points with two games left.
It would be incredibly harsh to sack Farke and actually, The 49ers and Paraag Marathe would probably come in for some criticism especially if the decision to hire the likes of Schmidt or Ancelotti backfires.
Whether Leeds do actually press the big red button and sack Farke remains to be seen, but the Leeds squad have grown close to Farke over the last couple of years and they would be sad to see him go.
