Leeds United are a Premier League club again but they had to win six Championship games in succession to win the title back in May.
Leeds United claimed 100 points and Leeds also beat Burnley to the Championship title, with Manor Solomon’s last-gasp goal in Plymouth snatching it out of their hands.
In so many ways, it was a record-breaking Championship season from Leeds. Daniel Farke secured them the most points in their history in the process, with 190 points in total during those two campaigns in charge in the second tier.
The Championship can be unforgiving, which Sheffield United have proven already this season. But four defeats and 13 draws were the 17/46 games which Leeds dropped their points in, winning 29.

Matt Bloomfield was the last manager to take Championship points off Daniel Farke’s Leeds United
Leeds fans will have fond memories of 2024/25, especially if they survive relegation back to the second tier this season. That side could be remembered as the foundation for 2025/26 and beyond.
The flying full-backs and the dynamic midfield players meant Leeds could control games and dominate their opponents, but that was the majority of the time and not the case in every single game.
Leeds are a much more physically combative side now but some opponents became tricky to face in such circumstances with those profiles of their own, particularly away from home.
In fact, Ao Tanaka admits to being nervous during the Championship run-in. His worst game in that period came against Luton Town, with Tanaka turning the ball over for their goal before Dan James’ stunning equaliser.
It was the final game they dropped points in that season and ended their worst run of games of 2024/25. Leeds drew four, lost one, and won one in a run which threatened to unravel their season.
Matt Bloomfield was in charge that day, and his Luton side impressed in making it a low-margin affair. He almost secured safety, were it not for a damaging 5-3 defeat to West Bromwich Albion on the final day of the season.
Now 11th after 11 games in League One, Bloomfield has been sacked by the Hatters. He leaves having taken the last points off of Farke as a Championship manager.
He may have been full of nerves but Leeds’ Japanese international had the last laugh in the end, with Tanaka honoured via PFA Championship awards and with Luton relegated while Leeds secured the title.

Only Burnley and Leeds picked up more run-in points than Luton Town
Leeds and Burnley were relentless for much of the season, but truly left Sheffield United behind in the final 10 games of the campaign, with the Blades 10th for form in that period.
| Rank | Games | Wins | Draws | Losses | GD | Points |
| 1. Burnley | 10 | 8 | 2 | 0 | 14 | 26 |
| 2. Leeds United | 10 | 7 | 3 | 0 | 16 | 24 |
| 3. Derby County | 10 | 5 | 3 | 2 | 6 | 18 |
| 4. Luton Town | 10 | 5 | 3 | 2 | 3 | 18 |
| 5. Millwall | 10 | 6 | 0 | 4 | -1 | 18 |
Interestingly, the Clarets and the Whites were also the only teams to collect more points in the final 10 fixtures than Luton. Derby County and Millwall also took 18 in that time.
Leeds beat Middlesbrough 1-0 (A), Preston North End 2-1 (H), Oxford United 0-1 (A), Stoke City 6-0 (H), Bristol City 4-0 (H), and Plymouth Argyle 2-1 (A) after drawing to Luton.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield almost took them to safety, but that hasn’t been enough credit in the bank to keep him around in the third tier after back-to-back relegations in 2024 and 2025.
