Leeds United travel across the Pennines to face Burnley this weekend, with Scott Parker full of praise for Daniel Farke’s side.
Burnley came up in second and on 100 points, with Leeds United pipping them to the title on the final day of the 2024/25 Championship season.
Now a Premier League fixture again, Daniel Farke will attempt to end a poor managerial record against Burnley on Saturday. His side drew and lost against the Clarets last term.
Burnley were one of four second tier teams Leeds failed to win at least one of their two games against, but Leeds had a statistically more impressive season than Burnley in the end.

Scott Parker delivers verdict on Leeds’ recruitment
The Whites were rightly crowned champions, with the majority of Leeds fans thinking Burnley will immediately be relegated under Scott Parker this season as well.
Both are united in that sense, with the last six promoted teams suffering relegation back to the Championship instantly. It will take smart coaching and good recruitment to survive.
Parker, speaking in his pre-match press conference (via Burnley’s official website), believes Leeds have done the latter this summer. He said: “It’s a massive game for us.
“They’re a highly competitive team. They’ve got off to a really good start.
“We know what we’re facing, they’ve recruited well, they’ve got a lot of quality — there’s a lot of similarities of what we faced last season.
“We’ll be ready, we’ve prepared well, and we’re looking forward to it.”
The surprise line is the fact he believes Leeds recruited well. Many Leeds fans may be happy with the signings now, but the feeling from Leeds supporters regarding deadline day was not positive at all, to say the least.
As for the game this weekend and what signings could be on show, we have already had a look at predicting the Leeds XI against Burnley this Saturday. However, it won’t be correct after Farke’s pre-Burnley comments on Leeds’ goalkeeping situation.

Burnley vs Leeds United score predictions
Opta’s supercomputer has Burnley as favourites against Leeds for Saturday’s fixture at Turf Moor. That isn’t the consensus with others, though.
The Leeds United News team have provided their Burnley vs Leeds score predictions, with far more optimism than Opta. Others, such as Paul Merson, expect Leeds to avoid defeat vs Burnley.
Per TBR Football, Mark Clattenburg provided his verdict. He said: “This is a tough one to call, but I think Burnley will nick it by the odd goal at home. Prediction: Burnley 2-1 Leeds United.”
Gabby Agbonlahor agrees regarding Burnley but the likes of Merson and Chris Sutton expect a draw for Leeds at Turf Moor in what looks likely to be a huge game.
