Pascal Struijk’s gesture to Marcelo Bielsa that many missed at Leeds United’s title parade

Leeds United had an excellent title parade, which exemplified how much the fans mean to the club.

It was a historic day in the Leeds City Centre as Daniel Farke’s side celebrated their immaculate season.

100 points is no easy feat, but Farke has earned his stay at Leeds because of it, and now they have every chance to build on their success in the Premier League.

Back to the parade, it was an excellent day, as Captain Ethan Ampadu stood out leading the chants, and he got a bit merry to say the least.

Many fans might have missed Ampadu’s picture at Elland Road after the parade, but another remarkable thing from Pascal Struijk didn’t get picked up.

Pascal Struijk’s gesture to Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United parade

Like always Leeds didn’t shy away from controversy, and once again Ampadu took centre-stage.

Ampadu hinted at Junior Firpo returning to Real Betis, which adds to the plethora of things he did on the day.

It seems like the Welshman took a break from being a leader for the day but Struijk showed his class like always.

This was because of the touching sentiment he showed for the 2019/20 Leeds squad and Marcelo Bielsa, who missed out on their Championship title parade due to COVID.

He was able to show this gesture by wearing the 19/20 winners medal along with this season’s accolade in a brilliant message to the likes of Liam Cooper who didn’t get their day with the fans.

Struijk might be the only one left from Bielsa’s 19/20 Leeds squad

With Farke building a new legacy with the Whites, it’s important to not forget what Bielsa did for the club.

Of course, this will never be forgotten as the Argentine is still talked about at Elland Road to this day, but the spirit still lives on in Farke’s squad from 19/20.

Patrick Bamford, Illan Meslier, and Struijk are the three remaining players, which brings reason to suggest that Struijk will be the last player from that Bielsa squad come the end of the summer.

This is due to Bamford potentially leaving and Meslier not wanting second choice at Leeds, whereas Struijk will be entering his ninth season with the club in what has been an incredible tenure.

The Dutchman will be partaking in his second Premier League campaign, and will be hoping Farke’s is as good as Bielsa’s first season in the top flight.

It will be a momentous occasion for Struijk, who loves Farke but will always have a place for Bielsa.
