Leeds United are making moves in the transfer window, with seven deals now across the line, the last being a deal for Lyon goalkeeper Lucas Perri.
Lucas Perri has joined Leeds United in a reported £14m deal from Ligue 1 side Lyon. He’ll be Daniel Farke’s new number one going into next season and he also becomes the club’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window so far.
Now, it is understood that Leeds will focus on attacking signings in what is left of the summer transfer window. Several names are being mentioned, with a winger, a new number 10 and a new striker all wanted at Elland Road.
But the striker position may take on more preference in the near future. Mateo Joseph has handed in a transfer request at Leeds United and looks poised to leave, whilst fellow striker Patrick Bamford is free to leave the club this summer, really leaving just Joel Piroe and Lukas Nmecha up top.
One striker who Farke has liked for some time now is Josh Sargent. The former Norwich City man looks set to be on the move this summer but recently turned down a move to the Bundesliga.

Josh Sargent told he made a mistake by rejecting Wolfsburg
Recent reports have revealed how Sargent pulled out of a move to Wolfsburg. The Norwich City man was set for a £21m move to Germany where he had previously shone with Werder Bremen. But it appears as though Sargent changed his mind at the last minute and he remains at Carrow Road for the time being.
However, the expectation is that he leaves the Championship club this summer with Leeds United along with fellow promoted side Burnley among the teams linked. But speaking on the Call It What You Want podcast, former USMNT player Charlie Davies suggested that Sargent was wrong to reject a move to Wolfsburg, calling it a no-brainer for the 25-year-old striker.
Davies said: “It’s a no-brainer. It’s Wolfsburg. He already had success at Werder Bremen. He understands the Bundesliga… I think they’re going to create chances. They’re not going to be a team that’s looking to defend and protect leads; defend first. You go to Burnley, recently promoted, you know it is ‘Guys, we got to hang on, we got to just defend first…’ the mentality is different.”

Leeds United make enquiry to sign a new striker
Striker links have been few and far between recently. Leeds have had ongoing links to a number of different attacking players over the summer, with Lecce striker Nikola Krstovic being one. However, Leeds United’s links to Krstovic have seemingly died down over the last few weeks.
Meanwhile, Leeds United have now inquired about signing Artem Dovbyk from Roma. Dovbyk is being tipped to leave Roma after the Italian club signed former Leeds United transfer target Evan Ferguson on loan from Brighton.
Leeds and West Ham are both understood to be keen on signing Ukrainian international Dovbyk, who could cost somewhere in the region of €20m. However, Dovbyk’s agent has already suggested that the transfer rumours are confusing Dovbyk right now, perhaps hinting that no move is imminent.
With Sargent’s move to Wolfsburg falling through, it could tempt Farke into turning his focus back onto his former Norwich City man and getting a deal over the line.
Whilst Leeds United fans aren’t excited about the Sargent rumours, he comes off the back of a good season in the Championship, scoring 15 goals in 32 games, and he looks better suited to tackle the Premier League this time round.
