Manor Solomon has been handed an award after his excellent season on loan at Leeds in the 2024-25 season.

The new Premier League season is now underway and it’s been a mixed start for Leeds United, following up an opening weekend win against Everton with a heavy defeat at Arsenal.

Daniel Farke guided Leeds back to the top flight at the second time of asking in 2024-25 and did so in style, claiming the Championship title with 100 points.

It wasn’t as dominant as that sounds, though, as Leeds only became champions on goal difference ahead of rivals Burnley and even that was done in dramatic fashion.

Leeds needed to win on the final day of the season at Plymouth Argyle to claim the title but were level going into the final moments after Willy Gnonto had earlier equalised.

Then, in their very own Sergio Aguero moment, Manor Solomon picked the ball up, slalomed forward and found the bottom corner to spark wild celebrations on the south coast and back home in Leeds.

It was the cherry on top of a great season for Solomon, who has now been crowned SofaScore’s Championship Player of the Season.

Manor Solomon named Championship Player of the Season for 2024-25

Football stats supremos SofaScore have used their rating system and detailed match-by-match stats to determine the average rating of every Championship player throughout the 2024-25 season.

Finishing on top of the pile with a 7.45 rating is Solomon, who ‘dominates the Championship to claim the award.’

Solomon played an integral role in Leeds’ title triumph and not just on the final day. The forward came in clutch during the crucial run-in, scoring or assisting in the last six games, all of which Leeds won.

He finished the season with 10 goals and 13 assists in 41 appearances. Despite that, Solomon wasn’t named in the Championship’s Team of the Season, which left Farke fuming.

Will Manor Solomon return to Leeds United in the Premier League?

The big question remains if Leeds will get Solomon back for the Premier League campaign.

It has been looking unlikely throughout the summer, with Solomon eager to prove himself under new Tottenham manager Thomas Frank.

Leeds remain interested in signing Solomon permanently and a price tag of around £20m has been touted.

However, speaking after the 1-1 draw with Villarreal in August, Farke did not sound hopeful of seeing Solomon return.

“Offensive-wise, if we are really honest, we have lost one of our main threats of the offence with Manor Solomon,” he said.

“Didn’t have many additions so far from then, if I am really honest. Then, you don’t have players like Dan James, who’s important for us. Jack Harrison is not available due to injury.

“When they are not available, then of course, it’s a bit thin the offence. We know what we have to do and what we need.”

Now that Leeds have signed forward Noah Okafor, Solomon’s return looks even less likely but a winger is still on the agenda, with Dilane Bakwa being chased, and Solomon’s wife wants him to return.
