How Patrick Bamford reacted to Leeds United chant during Bristol City win, Chris Wilder won’t be happy

Leeds United kept their title challenge against Burnley alive with a comfortable win against Bristol City.

Scott Parker will be frustrated as Daniel Farke’s Leeds side showed no signs of backing down on Monday night.

Elland Road saw yet another brilliant performance, which showed exactly why the Whites will be in the Premier League next season as Leeds thumped Bristol 4-0.

Patrick Bamford gave £5000 to Leeds fans for their contribution to what has been a largely successful season.

But something else Bamford did during the game will have upset Chris Wilder to heighten fans’ joy.

Chris Wilder will fume with Patrick Bamford during Leeds United vs Bristol City

Wilder hasn’t had the best ending to his Championship season, as it’s a big difference compared to the Whites camp.

In fairness to the Sheffield United boss, he has been respectful as Wilder said possibly sacking Farke was ‘ridiculous’.

But it’s hard for the Leeds faithful to change his mind of him, and Bamford encouraged their feelings on him after promotion was secured following the Stoke City win.

Bamford started a controversial chant about Wilder, which was followed by backlash, but the striker made amends in a conversation with the Blades manager.

However, when the Elland Road faithful sang ‘Patrick Bamford, he’ll sing what he wants’ the 31-year-old gave a ‘big grin’ to Wilder’s dismay.

What Farke should do with Bamford next season

The Leeds manager will have a decision to make next season with the striker.

Bamford’s contract expires in 2026, begging the question what Farke does with him in the Premier League.

Of course, the 49ers could get a fee for the striker instead of letting him go for free, but there was a clear reason why Farke wanted to keep Bamford at Leeds.

His short cameo against the Robins showed how he can be an option to be relied upon, and the main factor is that he’s already been and done it in the Premier Leeague.

Farke should keep hold of him, but a striker should no doubt be brought in to compete with him and Joel Piroe.
