There have been conflicting reports over Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United after the German boss got The Whites promoted to the Premier League – with some suggesting The 49ers could sack him.

Farke will be busy preparing his Leeds side to take on Bristol City on Monday night, in the last home game of the season. Leeds need to win their last two to lift the Championship trophy, at Plymouth.

The Whites go to Home Park on Saturday. But, reports have already surfaced suggesting Leeds could end up sacking Farke due to his record in the Premier League when he was manager of rivals Norwich City.

It was then claimed that The 49ers had chosen to keep Farke for the 2025-26 season. Now, 49ers boss and Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe is flying in to Yorkshire for tonight’s game and to speak to Farke.

How much money Leeds will have to pay Daniel Farke if sacked

It seems a ridiculous notion that Farke will be replaced after doing what he was expected to do, and to deliver Leeds back into the Premier League. The German has amassed a massive 184 points in two years.

With, two games left to play. He can still reach 100 points and achieve a third Championship title if Leeds beat Bristol City on Monday night, and then go to Plymouth and win – or match Burnley’s final result.

The Guardian report that if The 49ers and Marathe opt to relieve Farke of his Leeds duties, then Farke will be due a year’s salary as compensation – with his contract currently set to expire at Leeds in June 2027.

It is unclear how much Daniel Farke is earning at Leeds United

It has not been reported what Farke is currently earning at Leeds, having signed a four-year deal back in the summer of 2023. Two years remain, but with Leeds boasting the biggest wage bill, it is likely to be big.

Indeed, it would be a surprise if any other manager is paid as much as Farke in the Championship. The chances are, he may even have a bigger wage than some managers currently in the Premier League.

If The 49ers do decide to sack Farke then, it is going to cost them a hefty fee to remove him from his position two years before the contract is due to expire. The chances are, it is a seven-figure sum.
