Leeds United began their 2025/26 season with a stalemate against bitter rivals Manchester United.
It wasn’t one for a neutral, let’s put it that way, but Whites fans had a chance to see some of their new signings in action as Leeds drew Man United 0-0 in Stockholm.
In what was a fairly even affair, Daniel Farke and Ruben Amorim will have plenty to think about even after a dull game.
For Leeds, it was Largie Ramazani who came the closest to opening the scoring, as all five of Farke’s new recruits got minutes.
But looking at what was a game where much couldn’t be picked out, these are the five things we’ve learnt from the draw in Sweden.

Daniel Farke will experiment with a 4-3-3 at Leeds this season
There was a major change from the off as Farke decided to change to a midfield three instead of the usual 4-2-3-1 formation.
In the first half, Ethan Ampadu was the one sitting in the middle whilst Ilia Gruev and Ao Tanaka roamed around the pitch, and it nullified anything happening from Man United’s side of things, with Bruno Fernandes kept quiet.
Sean Longstaff also got his first minutes in this set-up as Farke can use Longstaff in many ways, but on the whole, the 4-3-3 suited Leeds to a tee and will definitely be explored this campaign.
New Leeds striker Lukas Nmecha has excellent hold-up play
The opener was a chance for fans to look at how Lukas Nmecha models his game, and physicality comes to mind.
After signing on a free transfer from Wolfsburg in June, Nmecha has had the most time to settle in, and certainly didn’t look out of place as the 26-year-old held the ball up superbly and even bullied Matthijs De Ligt at times.
Nmecha is known to play deeper, and Leeds fans got a little insight into what the German will bring this season.
Jack Harrison is finished at Leeds after Man United display
It was a shock to many of the Whites faithful that Harrison was in the starting lineup.
The 28-year-old has an uncertain future with the club after returning from his two-year spell with Everton, as Harrison’s future is being ‘discussed’.
From the 45 minutes he did play, it’s fair to say that he hasn’t changed any opinion from Leeds fans, who practically booed the winger every time he got on the ball, and with this toxic environment being created alongside a poor display, Farke only has one decision this summer.

Longstaff shows exactly why Farke brought him to Leeds
Despite only officially completing his move on Friday night, Longstaff was thrown straight into Leeds’ squad.
The 27-year-old completed a £15m move from Newcastle United and played the entirety of the second half, showing glimpses of why he’s a major signing this summer.
He looked solid in the midfield, which is exactly why Farke brought him in, to be that reliable option, as he used his quality by driving with the ball and picking passes, which almost resulted in a Ramazani goal.

Leeds have a new corner taker in Gabriel Gudmundsson
Many things were learnt for Farke to take into account, but something that was unknown is that new left-back, Gabriel Gudmundsson, poses a threat from taking corners.
The Swede made his first appearance for Leeds in his home country and flourished in the 45 minutes he was given, but what stood out was the fact that Gudmundsson was taking corners.
Gudmundsson put in some wicked balls which left the Man United defence struggling, and gives Farke another option from set-pieces, which was not known to the fanbase, as Gudmundsson also showed his ‘stability’ and overlapping runs.
