Leeds United will be thrilled with their new addition in Sean Longstaff.

The former Newcastle United midfielder completed his £15m switch to Elland Road on Friday night.

It was a late one, but one that was definitely worth it, as Longstaff has heard great things about Leeds.

With the fifth signing of the summer, Leeds could still have £104m to spend as the midfielder’s arrival equals Jaka Bijol’s fee as the most expensive so far this summer.

But with Leeds in action on Saturday against bitter rivals Man United, will the 27-year-old feature?

Whether Sean Longstaff will feature in Man United vs Leeds United

Daniel Farke’s side get proceedings underway against Ruben Amorim’s Red Devils in Stockholm, as Leeds are to play in front of 50,000 fans.

It could be a chance to get early bragging rights, and even though it’s a friendly, the Whites will want to end their 15-year drought without a win over the Manchester side.

There’s added tension to the game as Man United is ‘ready’ to move for Senne Lammens, a Leeds target as well, which will frustrate Farke.

The Leeds boss can take this frustration out on a strong performance against their rivals, and Longstaff could be in the fold.

Graham Smyth for the Yorkshire Evening Post has stated that Longstaff, amongst the other debutants, will be in the squad, as fans can get their ‘first glimpse’ of the midfielder with him being ‘earmarked’ for a place in the team.

How Longstaff could line up in Farke’s system for Man United vs Leeds

With the midfielder being thrown into the action straight away, fans can build their excitement for the 2pm kick-off.

Longstaff can prove his £15m fee in his first minutes for the club by just showing the quality he could bring to Farke’s regime.

It will be a tough battle against the likes of Bruno Fernandes, but Farke can lineup the midfielder alongside Ao Tanaka, as Longstaff is perfect for a 4-2-3-1.

Alongside that, Leeds could play a 4-3-3 which sees Ethan Ampadu enter the frame, giving cover for Longstaff to venture up the pitch and score goals like we know he can.

It’s a quick turnaround, but there is no doubt Longstaff is ready to get stuck in, and there isn’t a bigger test than a clash against Man United.
