Leeds United make a swift return to action against Luton Town at Elland Road and pundit Sam Parkin has shared his prediction.
Having started the gameweek top of the Championship, Leeds head into tonight’s match back in fourth place following wins for both Sheffield United and Burnley, as well as Sunderland’s draw.
Any margin of victory would see Leeds climb back into first but it certainly won’t be easy as Luton remain a side where it’s difficult to know what to expect following their start to the season.
Following such a tight turnaround from Sunday’s 4-3 victory at Swansea City, Daniel Farke could make a few changes to his Leeds starting XI for this one.
Wilfried Gnonto, Mateo Joseph and Max Wober are among the players who could come in, having all come off the bench late on in South Wales.

Sam Parkin predicts Leeds vs Luton score
Luton boss Rob Edwards says Leeds are the best team in the division but midweek Championship matches can be hard work and their 1-0 win over Hull City should give them confidence.
Leeds’ last midweek home match came against Watford and after racing into a 2-0 lead inside seven minutes, still made hard work of a 2-1 win.
But aside from a 1-0 defeat to Burnley back in September, Leeds’ form at Elland Road has been very strong and speaking on the latest episode of the Championship Predictions Podcast, Parkin is expecting that to continue.
Parkin has predicted a comfortable 2-0 win for Leeds against a Luton side he believes aren’t quite in the right position to give the Whites a ‘proper game’.
He said: “It was an amazing game wasn’t it. You felt Swansea had salvaged something and then all of a sudden, the goals were very similar. Swansea are going to have work some work to do on their high line, Leeds got in on multiple occasions for their goals. Wasn’t too many other chances or shots on target.
“I don’t think Luton are in a place where they can give Leeds a proper game at the moment. That may come later in the season, but in their current guise, despite their win over Hull, I’ll have to go for a comfortable 2-0 home win.”
Leeds midweek Championship record under Daniel Farke
It is rare in midweek matches under Farke that Leeds are ever able to win by a comfortable margin. In fact, only twice in 12 attempts have Leeds won by more than one goal.
On the whole, Leeds do have a decent record, but what it does show is that they do look to preserve their energy, if they are ahead, in midweek.
This table below is evidence of that. On a separate note, this does exclude matches that were played on Friday’s, Monday’s and during holiday periods such as Christmas and Easter.
