Leeds United have been handed some more surprise news from a recent EFL announcement.

It won’t come as a shock that Leeds are continually being announced as their status of being the biggest club in the Championship is shown.

Daniel Farke will not appreciate how their games have been handled this season as Leeds have had peculiar fixture times which has affected their season.

The hope now is that Leeds won’t have any more changes which will affect them but knowing the EFL that is unlikely to happen.

However, maybe what the EFL have announced this time might delight Whites fans.

EFL make surprising announcement for Leeds United

Farke has complained in the past about Leeds’ frustrating kick-off times and with a busy schedule around the corner, it might get worse for the Whites manager.

The international break has been a good time to rest and recuperate for Farke but he’ll hope the 16 Leeds players on international break don’t get injured.

With this in mind he’ll have to dodge close kick-off times and although it’s not ideal the EFL have for once favoured Leeds.

Leeds will be surprised for once as their fixtures against Oxford United and Stoke City have not been moved to an early kick-off time, instead an evening game and the standard 3 pm kick-off.

This actually benefits the Whites as Leeds have struggled with early kick-offs as the QPR and Portsmouth games prove that.

Farke might still be annoyed at EFL announcement for Leeds

As much as it’s a good thing that finally Leeds can go a week without playing early, it will still frustrate Farke.

The Championship schedule has proven to be challenging and although Leeds have had positive announcements before, this can be taken two ways.

It will please Leeds fans that an early kick-off isn’t in the subject, but having three games in the space of nine days will be challenging work, especially as the Preston game before Oxford and Stoke is an early kick-off in itself.

The EFL have finally made a good move, but don’t be surprised if their hard work is undone soon.
