With question marks now appearing over Daniel Farke’s Leeds United future, many factors have to be taken into account.
Although harsh, you can see both sides of the argument in Farke’s future with the Whites.
Leeds will be a Premier League side again next season, and that is thanks to Farke’s work, as the German now seeks the Championship title.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 44 | 27 | 13 | 4 | 89 | 29 | 60 | 94 | |
| 2 | 44 | 26 | 16 | 2 | 61 | 15 | 46 | 94 |
Leeds want establishment in the Premier League, which could see Farke’s departure, judging by his poor record of two relegations in the top flight.
The 49ers have to tread carefully, but Eddie Gray knows exactly what decision needs to be made.

Eddie Gray weighs in on Daniel Farke’s Leeds United future
It seemed like when promotion was finally achieved that Farke’s status as manager would be safe.
But this was far from the truth and has begged the question of where Farke finds himself after the end of the season.
Jose Mourinho to the Whites has been debated, but Mourinho’s move to Leeds has been played down.
This could suggest whether the owners could find a better manager than Farke, as Gray believes they should stick with what they’ve got.
Speaking to the Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet podcast, the Leeds icon sent a message of support to Farke after the job he’s done.
“He might not have the resources, but Leeds is a huge football club and I think the directors will back him,” Gray said.
“He’s done a fantastic job, it’s not easy being the manager, and he’s produced a side which has got us back in the big league.”

If Leeds sack Farke they need Andoni Iraola-type appointment
As unfortunate as it would be to see Farke exit the club after a brilliant campaign, it has its reasons.
Newly promoted teams tend to struggle nowadays in the Premier League, and although Sam Allardyce thinks Farke can develop Leeds, it comes with a big risk.
This risk being the gap between the top flight and the second tier, as a change might be needed for the Whites to achieve their ambition of being a top-eight club in the Premier League.
Farke’s Premier League record speaks for itself, so after Leeds tried to appoint Andoni Iraola, they should go down a similar path.
Of course, Rayo Vallecano blocked Iraola from joining Leeds, but that doesn’t mean they can’t replicate Bournemouth’s fortunes, who are currently achieving the 49ers’ wish in the Premier League.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 7 | 34 | 16 | 9 | 9 | 54 | 49 | 5 | 57 | |
| 8 | 33 | 13 | 10 | 10 | 52 | 40 | 12 | 49 | |
| 9 | 33 | 13 | 9 | 11 | 48 | 45 | 3 | 48 |
It would take thorough work to find the ‘next Iraola’, but it’s certainly doable, and if Bournemouth’s progress is anything to go by, this is certainly a reason why Farke might leave the club.
