A signature of someone like Latte Lath would be a real statement of intent from Leeds in terms of their pursuit for promotion back to the Premier League.

The 26-year-old proved that after he scored against Portsmouth on Saturday making it his 11th Championship goal of the season.

This will surely keep Leeds keen on the striker due to his form but also to a new revelation.

David Ornstein, reporting for The Athletic, has given the latest on Latte Lath’s situation.

Although talks continue for Latte Lath with Atlanta, an ‘agreement’ still hasn’t been reached for the Ivorian to make the jump to the MLS.

Clubs in Europe and the Premier League are also monitoring the situation to potentially rival Atlanta for his signature.

With no deal agreed just yet, Latte Lath’s future remains an open situation with the Whites not out of the race yet.

Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick on Leeds target Latte Lath

It will be an interesting prospect to see what Michael Carrick makes of the serious interest in the striker he’s managed for just two seasons.

That in itself has shown how good Latte Lath has been in the Championship, as his performance against Portsmouth on Saturday emphasised why Leeds are interested.

Boro boss, Carrick, was asked in his post-match press conference on Saturday about the striker’s future.

“For sure [he’ll keep playing],” Carrick said.

“He’s a big part of the group and he played well today and he scored so I was really happy with Manu today. There’s no change in his situation.”

It’s safe to say there are different views on the situation, and after Farke said he’s ‘aware’ of the striker position there’s every chance this saga goes right to the end of the window.
