Aidy White says whether Leeds United should have sold Mateo Joseph after his disappointing Millwall display

Leeds United fans would’ve been frustrated with Mateo Joseph on Saturday afternoon, as a new verdict has been given on whether the Whites should’ve sold the Spaniard.

Leeds lost 2-0 to Millwall in the FA Cup and despite a frustrating defeat, Farke can now put all the focus into their pursuit of Premier League promotion.

Femi Azeez scored a brace as Farke’s risky move of making 10 changes to his Leeds side certainly didn’t pay off.

On a poor afternoon, there was a shining light in young prodigy Sam Chambers who made his full debut for the Whites as Leeds fans thought Chambers was ‘class‘.

Someone who didn’t shine was Joseph, as Aidy White has given his view on the 21-year-old’s future.

Aidy White says whether Leeds United should have sold Mateo Joseph

White was frustrated by Wilfried Gnonto against Millwall and no doubt he would have felt the same with Joseph.

The Spaniard might not have even been at Elland Road after the window after Leeds rejected a £10m bid for Joseph.

Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds, White gave his admission on whether Leeds should’ve cashed in on the young striker judging by his performance against Millwall.

“It’s a lot of money for an unproven striker,” White said.

“I think it comes down to whether can you get some money in to replace him in time.

“If there was a striker ready to go then maybe it might have been different.

“It’s a risk isn’t it, so maybe not.”

Mateo Joseph’s performance against Millwall will question Leeds’ decision

If the 49ers had accepted the bid for Joseph it would’ve come with risk as White said.

Farke defended Joseph after the Millwall game, but it’s hard to understand why.

Judging by the 21-year-old’s performance against Millwall, it’s hard to say that Joseph is crucial to Farke’s plans.

Not his best performance this season to say the least.

Joseph wasn’t pushing for an exit from Leeds, but he may come to regret that decision after this performance.
