It was about 48 hours after the wild celebrations that piled onto social media, that saw Daniel Farke linked with the exit door at Leeds United despite securing automatic promotion.
Farke was given one job, and one job only. To get Leeds back into the Premier League and at the second attempt, with a third chance unlikely to be provided to the German, Farke got the job done this time.
The former Gladbach, Krasnodar and Norwich manager has guided Leeds to a whopping 97 points from 45 games and a win over already-relegated Plymouth on the final day will see Leeds climb to 100 points.
But two National newspapers have now suggested he could go. Firstly, The Mail said The 49ers were considering Farke’s future and now, The Guardian say Leeds have spoken to three possible candidates.

What Aaron Lennon thinks will happen with Daniel Farke
It is a big question. Farke has been excellent in the dugout, with his calmness under pressure and man management proving crucial. Plenty of Leeds players have produced the best season of their career.
But his Premier League record is awful, although the context behind it is important. Gabby Agbonlahor began the debate last week, but failed to tell everyone why his Norwich record is poor – a lack of cash.
Speaking to TalkSPORT on Wednesday afternoon, Lennon was asked about the reports: “I was listening to this debate, Gabby [Agbonlahor] started this debate. I think it’s super harsh. He’s been up with Norwich.
“Come on, he’s a top manager and he deserves this opportunity. He’s been fantastic. I’m sure he will get backing and be able to bring in players. they’re need some really good signings. He deserves a chance.”
The three managers Leeds have supposedly approached
According to The Guardian report, Leeds have spoken to Giovanni van Bronckhorst. The legendary left-back, who took Rangers to the Europa League final but most-recently struggled at Turkish side Besiktas.
The others are Carlo Ancelotti’s son and assistant at Real Madrid, Davide. Now 35, he is yet to actually manage a club himself but has worked as an assistant at Madrid, Bayern Munich, Everton and Napoli.
The final candidate supposedly approached is Roger Schmidt, who probably boasts a better CV than both van Bronckhorst and Ancelotti, as well as Farke, having managed the likes of PSV Eindhovena and Benfica.
