Leeds United’s deal at the 11th hour for Harry Wilson was rejected by Fulham, despite everything being in place for the versatile forward.
Leeds United News first revealed Leeds’ interest in Harry Wilson, with a loan bid from Leeds to Fulham rejected initially.
The deal for Wilson and Leeds was still alive permanently, especially if Fulham added numerous attackers to replace Wilson, with a number of big-money deadline day moves eyed by the Cottagers.
Fulham even agreed to two Wilson replacements but the deal was still not guaranteed with the hours then counting down to the deadline at 7pm.
Wilson to Leeds looked in doubt amid the need for a deal sheet to finalise a deal with Fulham. All then went quiet regarding Wilson amid Darko Gyabi’s exit.

The deal is off and the information regarding what happened has since been relayed by many. It was the BBC’s Nizaar Kinsella first revealed that he understood Wilson was to stay at Fulham despite attempts for a late move by Leeds.
Then, Graham Smyth said: “Leeds United deal for Harry Wilson didn’t get done. Fulham change of heart at last minute scuppered deal sheet chance. That’s that for the window.”
He added: “Ultimately Leeds should never have been in a position where Fulham could (again) dictate their transfer business, not on deadline day. Farke needed attackers and they did not give them to him.
“Now, as he said, it will be ‘difficult’ to fight for survival. So poor.”
Adam Pope has since explained in full detail that it appears Fulham pulled out at the last minute and he adds that they say they wouldn’t sell despite a deal having been agreed after an improved deal sheet offer.
He states: “Prior to that Wilson’s people were asked to move him on for a price which I’m told Leeds had already met.”

Ben Jacobs of talkSPORT has further details, adding: “Leeds United came really close to signing Harry Wilson on a permanent deal, but Fulham pulled the plug.
Understand Leeds met a quoted asking price over the weekend, but Fulham were focused on incomings delaying any movement. Leeds understanding of this. By Deadline Day, Fulham wanted to renegotiate and Leeds made an improved offer today.
“There was an initial agreement resulting in a proposed Deal Sheet. Leeds and Wilson signed, but Fulham communicated the transfer was off just minutes before the 19:00 deadline.
“Leeds naturally disappointed, but did everything possible to try and sign Wilson. In the end, Fulham decided not to sell.”
