Anton Stach has signed for Leeds United on a four-year deal from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, becoming the sixth signing of the summer.

Leeds United signed Sean Longstaff last week but Anton Stach is the sixth arrival of the summer transfer window for Daniel Farke and the 49ers.

Leeds weren’t happy with the public nature of the Stach deal. However, despite taking some time to be completed, personal terms with Stach and Leeds were quickly in place.

Stach underwent a medical with Leeds on Monday but the excitement is already peaking thanks to the drawn-out process of the transfer, and Leeds fans know Stach could be a ‘game changer’.

Stach becomes a more expensive Leeds signing than Raphinha

Fabrizio Romano confirmed a £17.3 million plus add-ons fee for Stach had been agreed at one stage, but the latest since that reveal is that it’s now been reported that Stach will cost Leeds £19.9 million if add-ons are met.

Of course, on top of the other five signings Leeds have made, that is another huge chunk of the transfer budget put aside this summer. Lukas Nmecha was a free transfer but Stach is the most expensive deal thus far.

Jaka Bijol had that crown but Stach’s near £20 million switch places him among the most expensive arrivals to Leeds of all-time.

If all add-ons are met, Stach will be Leeds’ seventh most expensive signing ever. £19.9 million equates to just shy of 23 million currently.

It’s more than Raphinha, who is widely-regarded as one of Leeds’ best ever signings. Currently, Bijol is 11th on this list and Sean Longstaff is 18th, but neither of those include any add-ons yet.

Stach explains his best attributes after signing for Leeds

Stach could ‘spell the end’ for Gruev at Leeds, given the titanic midfielder will expect to start the majority of games for Leeds, such was his quality at Hoffenheim.

We suggested Leeds sign Stach after missing out on Habib Diarra, with his strengths likely to serve Leeds well in a relegation battle next season.

Speaking to LUTV, Stach outlined those best attributes in his skill-set well. He said: “My style of play, I would say I am an aggressive player.

“I am good in duels. I am good in anticipating passes from the opponents. And, between the lines, I would say [I’m strong].

“So many people told me I would be good for the Premier League and now we will see; I’ll try my best.”
