A week is a long time in football and while Leeds United are not particularly close to any signings at this moment in time, Adam Underwood will be aware that Leeds have nine weeks left to do business.
Those who are out of contract this summer will officially become free agents this week, with Leeds set to wave goodbye to Junior Firpo, Sam Byram and Josuha Guilavogui unless the club announces differently.
The Whites have missed out on Habib Diarra and Reinildo Mandava to Sunderland, but will be working hard to add to Lukas Nmecha and Jaka Bijol. Here are six players Leeds could sign this week:

The six players Leeds could sign this week:
Gabriel Gudmundsson (Lille)
With Junior Firpo set for Betis and an announcement expected soon, Leeds need a left-back and top of the list is Sweden international Gabriel Gudmundsson. Like Bijol, his contract ends in a year’s time.
Gudmundsson hinted he would be open to a Leeds move last week, and a move to Leeds is gathering speed with French media reporting he is set to move to England. This is the one Leeds are closest to.
Noah Sadiki (Union St. Gilloise)
With Diarra now a no-go, Leeds are expected to make a move for USG’s title-winning midfielder Noah Sadiki. Reports say Sadiki is one of two players Leeds will target after missing out on Diarra.
Leeds are said to have made a bid for Sadiki, while respected journalist Sacha Tavolieri says Leeds are negotiating personal terms. However, The Whites face competition from Brentford and Frankfurt.
Lucas Perri (Lyon)
With Lyon facing relegation to Ligue 2 after the DNGC’s announcement, the French club may have to sell a whole heap of senior stars. Leeds are eyeing a £13m move to sign their Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri.
However, LeedsUnited.News understands Lyon will win their appeal against relegation. So it is interesting to see where that leaves Leeds’ interest in Perri, but The Whites have been linked with a move for him.
Himad Abdelli (Angers)
Leeds might not be signing Diarra, but they are plotting a move for another Ligue 1 skipper. Algeria star Himad Abdelli has emerged as a target, with Leeds plotting a £12m bid to sign the Angers captain.
Abdelli would be a replacement for Brenden Aaronson in the no.10 role. Wearing the 10 shirt for Angers last season, he scored six goals and has that tenacity and flair you would expect from a creative player.

Rodrigo Muniz (Fulham)
Ah, Muniz. Leeds have seen a £32m bid rejected for the Brazilian. Tottenham are said to be keen on the striker and Muniz is said to prefer Spurs, but realistically he won’t be starting for Thomas Frank’s side.
Reports say Leeds are planning to go back in for Muniz. But, Diarra’s move to Sunderland shows Leeds won’t pay over the odds – and rightly so. But it means they will struggle to reach Fulham’s £50m tag.
Sebastiaan Bornauw (Wolfsburg)
Out of the blue on Monday, Graham Smyth reported Leeds have agreed a £5m fee to sign Belgium star Sebastiaan Bornauw from Wolfsburg. Another centre-back, he also saw his contract expiring in 2026.
A right-footed centre-back, Bornauw is another example of Adam Underwood and Robbie Evans signing a physical presence. He is expected to come in with Wober likely to leave the club in the coming weeks.
