Leeds United are starting to get the ball rolling in the transfer market after Adam Underwood completed his first signing as the new sporting director at Elland Road.

On Sunday, a two-year deal for Lukas Nmecha was confirmed with the Germany international joining Leeds on a free from Wolfsburg. The news of the deal emerged suddenly and hours later it was done.

In stark contrast, Jaka Bijol’s move to Leeds has been widely reported. Fabrizio Romano confirmed Bijol is close to joining Leeds in an £18.75m deal, with a medical scheduled and both a fee and wages agreed.

Left-field reports from France say Habib Diarra’s move to Leeds is ‘imminent’, though more reliable sources in England are yet to report this. Now, Leeds have made an £8.5m bid for a Belgian title winner.

Leeds make offer to sign USG’s DR Congo star Noah Sadiki

Midfield is a key area now for Leeds, with a striker signed and Bijol set to shore up Daniel Farke’s options in defence. Leeds have already waved goodbye to both Josuha Guilavogui and Joe Rothwell this summer.

Ilia Gruev and Ao Tanaka have never played in the Premier League and Ethan Ampadu has only managed 26 career appearances in the top flight, though has a whole lot more during two loan spells in Serie A.

Leeds need experience and have chosen to go after Union Saint-Gilloise and DR Congo midfielder Noah Sadiki. Sacha Tavolieri says Leeds have bid £8.5m for Sadiki, after helping USG win the Belgian league title.

“Leeds are the first to make a move for Noah Sadiki! They have made contact to gauge the intentions of USG’s management, with an initial offer starting at €10M. OL haven’t forgotten about Noah Sadiki either.”

Interest in Noah Sadiki is huge with Celtic also eyeing a move

Sadiki starred for USG last season, playing an enormous 63 games for both club and country. Of those 63, 55 came for USG as they won the Belgian title. USG’s Promise David has also been linked with Leeds.

But Sadiki has not only been added to Leeds’ list. Indeed, The Scottish Sun says Scottish champions Celtic could make a move for the DR Congo star with Brendan Rodgers an admirer of his physicality and fitness.

Sadiki is likely to be tempted with a move to a top-five league or at least, a club in the Champions League like Celtic. Whether Leeds can agree a fee and tempt him to move to Elland Road remains to be seen.
