Marseille move stalls for Igor Paixao and offers Leeds hope
Igor Paixao has been strongly linked with Leeds throughout the summer already, but there has been other interest in Feyenoord’s Brazilian winger.
A deal is not so simple for Leeds, as Marseille agreed personal terms with Paixao and the chances of Leeds landing him therefore seemed dead.
Marseille’s move for Paixao is currently stalling and it offers Leeds some hope. That comes after Graham Smyth listed Paixao as one of three priorities the club are working on currently.
Celta Vigo join Real Betis in Mateo Joseph race
It’s been stated previously that Leeds and Mateo Joseph had an agreement he would be sold if a £10 million offer arrived. Real Betis have been strongly linked, but are yet to provide the fee.
We exclusively revealed that Joseph wants to return to Spain, despite other reports stating Leeds are intent on keeping Joseph over the last week.
Then, speaking after yesterday’s friendly, Farke said Joseph had chosen not to be involved despite Willy Gnonto starting after returning from international duty. Now, it’s been claimed that Celta Vigo have also joined the Joseph race.
Leeds-linked Callum Wilson makes transfer demand
Callum Wilson left Newcastle United as a free agent two weeks ago now, with Wilson regularly linked to Leeds this summer, even before the England international chose to leave Newcastle.
West Ham are reportedly keen on Wilson but the problem the 33-year-old has is that Wilson is demanding a starting role at his next club, which not many teams are willing to offer.
However, the latest claims and developments have emerged since then claiming that Wilson now wants a pay-as-you-play deal. That would make a move easier for interested suitors to seal from a financial perspective.
