Daniel Farke has made it clear that he would like to sign a new striker before the close of the January transfer window next Monday, and Leeds United could now use their RedBull connection.

Leeds United are in the market for new signings. Last Thursday, Daniel Farke identified three positions that he would like to strengthen and after the 0-0 draw at Burnley, Farke hinted a new signing was close.

The German is prioritising a new no.10 and a new striker, while a centre-back is also on the agenda even if Pascal Struijk could be fit to face Cardiff. Jon Newsome thinks Leeds need a new striker and a new no.10.

Leeds have been linked with numerous different players and the latest of those is currently playing his trade with another side benefitting from the financial boost provided by RedBull’s football department.

Leeds touted with a move to sign RedBull Salzburg striker

With six days to go, Leeds are likely to be working hard to bring in a new striker and possibly, competition for Brenden Aaronson. The Daily Mail now claim Leeds could sign RedBull Salzburg striker Adam Daghim.

The 19-year-old joined Salzburg in the summer of 2023 from Danish side Aarhus. He immediately went on loan before returning last summer, and has since scored four goals in 28 appearances for Salzburg.

Indeed, Daghim has been used as a winger and as a striker by Salzburg – starting only 13 of those 28 games. Leeds are not the only side to be linked with a move, The Mail also listing Leicester and Brentford.

Adam Daghim on idolizing former Salzburg man Erling Haaland

Son of former Leeds player Alf Inge Haaland and indeed born in Yorkshire, Erling Haaland came through the ranks at Salzburg before shining under Jesse Marsch in the Champions League prior to Dortmund.

From Dortmund, to Manchester City and Manchester City to quite easily the best centre-forward in the world at this current moment in time. Daghim spoke of idolising Haaland following his Salzburg move.

He told Salzburg’s website: “I really like the way Neymar Jr. plays, and as a striker, Erling Haaland is my big idol. He scores loads of goals, and you can’t do the job any better than he does.”

Whether or not Salzburg are open to his sale remains to be seen. But the RedBull connection, and that the Whites have done business with Salzburg in recent years too, could help a move happen this week.
