Leeds United are yet to announce their first signing of the summer, though a deal for Harry Wilson has been agreed. Now, according to some reports, a second addition has been secured.

Despite no new signings confirmed as of yet, Wales star Wilson has agreed to join Leeds on a four-year deal until June 2030. A free transfer after his Fulham contract expired, Wilson has finally joined Leeds.

It comes after coming within an inch of joining Leeds in the final hours of last summer’s window, only for Fulham to pull the plug. After the season of his life, 17 goals and assists, Wilson seemed unattainable.

But Leeds have pulled off a coup to land the Wales star. Shea Charles and Julian Brandt have also been linked in recent days, while the Whites need a replacement for Pascal Struijk after he joined Brighton.

Leeds reach ‘agreement’ for goalkeeper Zion Suzuki

However, it appears Leeds’ second order of business could actually be the signing of a goalkeeper. Lucas Perri struggled during his first season at Leeds, and Karl Darlow is officially a free agent as things stand.

There is a belief that Darlow will sign a new deal. But Leeds are closing in on the signing of a new stopper, and Japan’s World Cup star Zion Suzuki has emerged as a target. The Parma ace is expected to depart.

Especially after Parma signed a goalkeeper themselves from Juventus. Leeds have been strongly linked with Suzuki in Italian and Japanese media, with the club supposedly willing to pay north of £26m for him.

Now, Japanese outlet Football Seki claim Leeds have reached an agreement on a four-year deal with Suzuki this summer. The outlet says a deal has been agreed and Suzuki will play alongside Ao Tanaka.

They reported on X that a deal is done: “Breaking News. Suzuki: transfer to Leeds in the Premier League. It appears an agreement has been reached for a contract until 2030. Will play alongside Ao Tanaka.”

Zion Suzuki’s impressive World Cup stats

Japan have been knocked out of the World Cup. Harsh, given they had performed well and gone without defeat in the group stages. But having finished second in their group, they were forced to play Brazil.

They took the lead in the round of 32 clash, only for Brazil to come back and win thanks to goals from Casemiro and Gabriel Martinelli. Ao Tanaka was guilty of a mistake for Brazil’s 96th-minute winner.

How Leeds could line-up in 2026-27 with four new arrivals 👀

Suzuki, Charles, Brandt and Wilson all linked.

But Suzuki impressed. An overall rating of 7.12, the goalkeeper saved 70.6% of the shots he faced and kept a clean sheet in a 4-0 win over Tunisia. He averaged three saves a match in Japan’s four matches.

While he might not be the outstanding shot-stopper at the tournament, he was certainly in impressive form and if anything, his World Cup exploits will have confirmed to Leeds that a deal was worth doing.
