Leeds United are already setting their sights on some Premier League talents, ahead of a possible return to the Premier League for the 2025/26 season.
After two years out of the top flight, Leeds United are pushing for a return, and pushing hard. Daniel Farke has the Whites sitting in 2nd place of the Championship table and Leeds could pull seven points clear of Burnley in 3rd with a win over Sunderland on Monday night.
Sheffield United have overtaken Leeds at the top after the Blades won at Luton Town over the weekend, adding a bit of extra pressure on Leeds as they welcome the 4th place Black Cats to Elland Road on Monday.
But Leeds are the team tipped to win the league right now. They’ve been in formidable form and it’d be forgiven if the club has one eye on the summer transfer window, and on bolstering for the Premier League.
Several names are already linked, including January target Emi Buendia and also Cameron Archer who was linked with a deadline day move to West Yorkshire.

Leeds United mentioned alongside Conor Coady at Leicester City
Another name has now been added to the Whites’ summer transfer wishlist in Leicester City defender Conor Coady. The 31-year-old, who boasts 10 caps for England, has featured just 10 times in the Premier League for the Foxes this season following his £7.5million move from Wolves in 2023.
Now, TeamTalk say that Leeds United may ‘consider’ Coady as a summer option with the centre-back position bound to be bolstered during the summer transfer window, after several were linked with Leeds during the January transfer window without any signing.
Coady began his career at Liverpool but would make his name during an eight-year stay at Wolves between 2015 and 2023, making 317 total appearances for the club and helping them win the Championship title in 2018.

Daniel Farke has found quick solution to centre-back issue, but it’s not a long-term fix
In January, a centre-back and a striker were the two positions that Leeds most needed to bolster. But it seems like the centre-back issue has been resolved for the time being at least, with Ethan Ampadu having stepped in.
He and Joe Rodon are the two main centre-back options right now and with six clean sheets in a row, it seems to be a solid partnership. So much so that it’s keeping Pascal Struijk on the bench right now, and so Leeds now have options at the back.
But come the summer and next season, Farke may want Ampadu back in midfield and he’ll no doubt want extra depth at centre-back too, so a new centre-back signing or even two in the summer seems vital for the Whites, especially if they’re to return to the Premier League.
