Emi Buendia to Leeds United transfer rumours

Leeds failed in an attempt to sign Buendia last summer as he didn’t want to drop down to the Championship.

The Whites considered a loan move in January after Buendia struggled for game time at Aston Villa, but he opted to join Bayer Leverkusen instead and played just 14 times.

Now, with Leeds back in the Premier League, Buendia has once again resurfaced as a possible target and maybe even on a permanent move.

What Daniel Farke has said about Buendia

Farke was the man who brought Buendia to English football when he signed him from Getafe in 2018 and he flourished under him at Norwich City.

The 28-year-old has played for the Leeds boss more than any other manager by some distance.

Farke was asked directly about Buendia following the 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday last season.

Though the Leeds boss remained tight-lipped on the possibility of signing him, he couldn’t help but make it clear that he thinks highly of him.

Farke told Leeds Live: “I don’t speak about any other player under contract at another club. Obviously, I’ve worked with him for many years, I really rate him. I don’t comment on players on other clubs.”
