Leeds United have another new name on their summer transfer wishlist, and it’s someone who Daniel Farke knows very well.
Leeds United are often linked with Daniel Farke’s former players, one such name being Emi Buendia who’s currently on loan at Bayer Leverkusen from Aston Villa.
In the January transfer window, Leeds United tried to sign Buendia on loan from Villa but couldn’t get the deal over the line, although subsequent reports claimed that Leeds United would target a summer deal for Buendia.
Whether that comes true remains to be seen. But Farke also has his eye on another former player of his in Norwich City striker Josh Sargent.
Leeds United have been linked with Sargent throughout the year but again, whether or not the club thinks he’s ready for the Premier League and decides to make a move remains to be seen.
And now, yet another former Norwich City player is being linked with a Farke reunion at Elland Road ahead of the summer transfer window.
Leeds United linked with loan move for Bournemouth’s Max Aarons
Bournemouth right-back Max Aarons made his breakthrough under Farke at Norwich City in 2018. Now 25, Aarons left Norwich in 2023 for Bournemouth but currently finds himself on loan at Valencia after failing to really make an impact with the Cherries, playing just three times in the Premier League this season.
Joining Valencia in January, Aarons has since made just two La Liga appearances for the club. And journalist Ekrem Konour has now revealed that Leeds United are in the hunt to sign the Englishman on loan this summer, with Aarons seemingly facing an uncertain return to the Vitality Stadium.
Konour also says that Sheffield United, Marseille and Lille are interested in Aarons, ‘along with other big interest from top European leagues’. Konour posted on X below…
Max Aarons link comes at the perfect time for Leeds United
The full-back department in particular looks set for change at Leeds United this summer. At both left and right-back Farke needs depth, and more quality, and links to Aarons comes at the perfect time, it seems.
Leeds United target Kyle Walker-Peters is now wanted by Fulham who are set to enter talks with the Southampton man at the end of the season, ahead of his Saints contract expiring in the summer.
For Leeds, then, Aarons could be the perfect alternative to Walker-Peters although Farke would no doubt have preferred a permanent deal for Walker-Peters, instead of a loan deal for Aarons.
But he’s a player who Farke knows very well and for Aarons, reuniting with his former boss could see his form get back to where it once was.
