Leeds United could sign a new lynchpin for their midfield this summer, and for the very reasonable fee of £9million.
Leeds United need new signings this summer. That much is clear. But for Daniel Farke and his recruitment team at Elland Road, where to start is the big question.
Farke will have the final say on transfers at Leeds United this summer and he’s certainly got a a few gaps to fill: in goal, at left and arguably right-back, in the centre of midfield, and in the no.9 position too.
In the middle of the pitch Leeds United will see Joe Rothwell return to parent club Bournemouth, although Farke has been urged to sign Rothwell permanently from Bournemouth who want a £7.5million fee for the Englishman.
Then in the no.10 position Farke looks set to bolster. Former Whites player Mike Grella has suggested that Leeds United need to upgrade Brenden Aaronson this summer and many fans would agree with that.

Leeds United should target Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi as relegation clause revealed
Already, Leeds United are targeting several Southampton players following the Saints’ relegation from the Premier League, with Cameron Archer, Kyle Walker-Peters and Aaron Ramsdale all linked with Leeds United ahead of the summer.
Leicester City have also been relegated. And it’s now been revealed that long-standing Foxes midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has a £9million relegation clause which has now come into play, meaning the likes of Leeds United or any other interest team could sign the central midfielder, no questions asked, for £9million.
The 28-year-old has now made 300 Leicester City appearances in total, scoring 18 and assisting 21 along the way. The 64-cap Nigerian international has won the FA Cup, Community Shield, and the Championship title with the Foxes.

Five reasons why Leeds United should snap up Wilfred Ndidi this summer
Wilfred Ndidi has bags of Premier League experience
Ndidi has an incredible 217 Premier League appearances to his name. Not only that but he’s been an important player for Leicester City throughout his nine years with the club.
He’d add huge amounts of quality and experience to a Leeds side that will certainly need both of those things to stand a chance of beating the drop next season.
Leeds United don’t really have a strongman in midfield
Ndidi is a powerhouse in midfield and that’s something Leeds United don’t really have right now. They have tenacious players, like Ao Tanaka, and Ethan Ampadu although it looks like he might play centre-back next season.
And with Josuha Guilavogui set to leave Leeds United it really leaves Farke’s midfield options, especially in that holding role, looking light.
£9m is a bargain price for Wilfred Ndidi
Nowadays, teams have to go out and spend upwards of £50million to sign players with as much quality and experience as Ndidi.
But £9million definitely feels like a bargain and for Leeds, who will have to sign multiple players this summer, they should jump at the chance to sing Ndidi for such a reasonable price.
