Leeds United ‘interested’ in signing Tottenham star in January amid Pascal Struijk interest

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke may now feel the need for some January transfers, following his side’s rather dismal start to the New Year.

Leeds were tipped to be quiet in January with few signings expected at Elland Road. And multiple reports and insiders keep on saying the same thing.

But after the Whites’ poor start to 2025, with draws against Blackburn Rovers and then Hull City last time out, Daniel Farke may be quickly rethinking his initial plans for the January transfer window.

There’s 19 players linked with Leeds United and the list is growing all the time. One thing seems clear though: Farke wants to sign a ew centre-back. There’s been more centre-backs linked than any other positions and it makes sense given the lack of depth that Leeds currently have in that area.

Already though, Leeds have missed out on Ben Godfrey who’s joined Ipswich Town, whilst fellow transfer target Abdukodir Khusanov is in talks with Real Madrid over a dream move to Spain.

Leeds United linked with Tottenham Hotspur’s Ben Davies

Another new centre-back name has now been added to the Whites’ transfer radar in Tottenham Hotspur’s Ben Davies. Back in the January transfer window last year, reports claimed that Leeds wanted to sign Davies who’s been falling down the pecking order in North London.

It appears as though the Whites have retained their interest in the 31-year-old who’s made 341 total appearances for Spurs since joining from Swansea City in 2014, but only four in the top flight this time round.

Transfer expert Ben Jacobs has revealed so, suggesting that the move is ‘one to watch in the coming weeks’.

He said on the Last Word On Spurs podcast: “With Ben Davies, I think that he will also be gone. And the same for Fraser Foster as well. With Davies, the natural thing is to run down the contract.

“Leeds United remain interested. So that could be one to watch in the coming weeks. But I think that with Kinsky arriving, Forster falls down the pecking order.”

Tottenham keen on Leeds United star Pascal Struijk

Leeds’ emerging interest in Davies is interesting given the fact that Spurs have been linked with one of Leeds’ centre-backs in the build up to January.

It was previously claimed that Tottenham are interested in Pascal Struijk. The Dutchman missed the Hull City game through injury but his injury doesn’t appear to be a serious one, which means he may still viable for a January move.

Leeds are thought to value the 25-year-old at £25million. Though it seems unlikely that Leeds will facilitate any big name player sales in the winter window, unless for huge fees.
