Fabrizio Romano says Leeds United are looking to wrap up a deal for Crysencio Summerville’s replacement quickly.
Leeds are now in the market for a reinforcement out wide after losing their talisman Summerville to West Ham United over the weekend.
Summerville made the switch to the capital in a deal worth in excess of £25 million and leaves Leeds with a huge hole to replace in Daniel Farke‘s squad.
The 22-year-old was crowned the Championship’s POTS for 2023/24 and will leave behind a total of 31 goal contributions across all competitions.
Leeds have been ready for this situation to materialise for a while now and it would appear they have already earmarked a couple of potential replacements.

Romano says Leeds want quick Summerville replacement
Top of Leeds’ shortlist to replace Summerville are Crystal Palace’s Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Norwich City’s Jonathan Rowe.
Leeds have been among the clubs in the race to sign Rak-Sakyi for several weeks now but face serious competition from the likes of Sheffield United and Queens Park Rangers.
In fact, Leeds will only reportedly move for Rak-Sakyi if a move for Rowe fails, having already seen a £7 million bid knocked back by the Canaries.
Speaking to Give Me Sport, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now shared an update on Leeds’ interest in Rowe, confirming it is a ‘concrete possibility’.
Whether Rowe is the one who gets done or not, Romano is expecting Leeds to find their replacement for Summerville quickly.
He said: “Yeah, he’s a possibility. It’s true that his name is one of the ones they are considering internally. At the moment, I’m told that still nothing is close to being done, but it’s a concrete possibility. For sure, they will replace Summerville.
“They are assessing all the options, but I think Leeds will be quite fast on this one, also because they made good money with Summerville and also with Archie Gray, so they have some money to invest, and they will surely do that.”
What Rowe has said about Elland Road amid Leeds links
It would not be a surprise if Rowe is keen on the move to Leeds based on his past comments about the Elland Road crowd, having played there earlier in his career.
That would mean Leeds simply have to agree a fee with Norwich to get it done, though that will not be easy according to Sky Sports’ Tim Thornton.
Rowe said: “Elland Road had the most noise I can remember. A crazy game. Even though we lost I was just in awe of the atmosphere. I couldn’t believe that this was what my dream is.
“Even though we lost I was like, ‘wow’. Imagine being on the other side of that, I feel like that’s the feeling I always chase. These type of moments keep you motivated and hungry to make yourself feel that emotion in the future.”
