Leeds United are among a host of clubs eyeing up a loan move for a Premier League winger this summer.

The Whites are currently well stocked in the wide positions but it would not be a surprise to anyone if that was to change before the end of the window.

Jaidon Anthony has already departed following the end of his loan, while both Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville could follow.

Gnonto is wanted for a second successive summer by Everton, though their failed takeover could impact that. Summerville is also of interest to plenty of top-flight clubs.

As such, Leeds have been extensively scouring the market for wingers in recent weeks and it appears as though they have identified one potential target.

Leeds eyeing move for Crystal Palace’s Jesurun Rak-Sakyi

One thing is for sure, any players who come into replace one or both of Summerville and Gnonto will have to be special.

They scored a combined total of 27 league goals last season, with Summerville also winning the Championship’s POTS award back in April.

According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace’s Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is one they are interested in signing on loan if they are forced to enter the market for wingers.

Leeds are said to be among a ‘raft of clubs’ to have made their interest known to Palace for Rak-Sakyi, who is a very highly rated 21-year-old.

It has been claimed over half of the Championship have asked Palace to take Rak-Sakyi on loan, while Southampton have also seen an offer knocked back, as they would prefer to send him to the second tier.

Rak-Sakyi would certainly offer something different to what Leeds have right now, as he primarily plays off the right, but is left-footed.

Marc Guehi says Rak-Sakyi has ‘great potential’

Marc Guehi was one of England’s stand-out performers at Euro 2024 as the Three Lions once again fell short in the final.

Guehi, of course, plays his club football at Selhurst Park and so knows as well as anyone the quality Rak-Sakyi has, telling cpfc.co.uk in October last year he is a player with ‘great potential’.

He said: “We’ve got a lot of good players – credit to Jes. He came on and he was our best player on the pitch, so credit to him but we can look ourselves in the mirror and say we could have done better.

“He’s a top player with great potential and the club has high hopes for him so hopefully he can take his opportunity.”
