Leeds United are being linked with a whole host of players but reports are claiming Daniel Farke wants one player signed ‘now’, even if it means Leeds will have to pay his release clause.
Leeds look good for promotion to the Premier League and while players might be unwilling to drop into the Championship, Leeds sit three points clear at the top of the league table and it may tempt targets.
Players may feel like that while they will have to drop into the second tier, they could go into the Premier League with Leeds soon. One player currently being linked with Leeds is a regular for a Bundesliga side.

Daniel Farke wants Nico Elvedi reunion but there’s a problem
Nico Elvedi has spent the last nine years at Gladbach. The Switzerland ace is edging closer to playing the most games as a foreigner for Gladbach, and is close to the top-10 all-time Gladbach appearance makers.
But, Leeds want to sign Elvedi. Indeed, Leeds are leading Wolves in the race for Elvedi’s signature with £10m said to be enough, but Elvedi is currently a mainstay in Daniel Farke and Max Wober’s old side.
Now, German newspaper BILD claim Farke wants Elvedi signed. Gladbach are unwilling to sell him with manager Gerardo Seoane delighted with his form and that means, Leeds will have to pay his exit clause.
The report states that the only way Leeds can land Elvedi is by activating the clause in his current contract though it is unclear how much that figure is. His deal at Gladbach is set to run until the summer of 2027.

Do Leeds really need to sign Elvedi in the January window?
It is not as if Leeds are stretched, even with Junior Firpo injured. Daniel Farke says Jayden Bogle and Sam Byram could be available to play against Hull despite both coming off on Wednesday against Blackburn.
But if Wober continues to play at left-back for Leeds, it leaves The Whites with a lack of cover in the middle of the defence for Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk. James Debayo is next, but he’s only played once.
Elvedi would be a stunning signing. A player of Premier League quality, huge experience both in Germany and with his country. Even if Farke wants Elvedi signed this month, the chances are he will have to wait.
