Daniel Farke has been speaking to the media after Saturday’s draw between Leeds United and Blackburn Rovers and has delivered an injury update on two of his defenders.
Leeds United’s winning run at Elland Road, and three consecutive wins from three games came to an end despite Pascal Struijk opening the scoring from the spot on 91 minutes, in a crazy finish on Saturday.
A frustrating game for Leeds fans saw an uneventful first half kick into gear in the second. Daniel Farke was under the spotlight as he made substitutions, taking Sam Byram off at half-time for Max Wober.
Moments into the second half, Jayden Bogle was forced off – replaced by Ethan Ampadu. Then, he took off Manor Solomon, Joe Rothwell and Joel Piroe for Patrick Bamford, Mateo Joseph and Wilfried Gnonto.

Tony Dorigo was left stunned as Solomon went off, with on-loan Tottenham man Solomon angry as he made his way to the dugout. Indeed, the winger threw his gloves into the dugout after being subbed off.
But what was worrying following the draw, was that Farke had to take off two full-backs with Junior Firpo sidelined already. However, ahead of Saturday’s trip to Hull, he said the duo could be available to play.
“Sam had so many games in a row and he looked tired. He has been struggling with a cold but he wasn’t at his best. He looked pale at half-time. Jayden got a dead leg. I hope to have them available for Hull.”

Crisis averted if Leeds duo can be available for Hull City trip
Leeds might have been in crisis mode if both Byram and Bogle were forced to join Firpo on the sidelines. That is, even if Farke continues to overlook summer signing Isaac Schmidt, who is yet to start a game.
But even if Bogle and Byram cannot play, or only one of them is available, Wober looked impressive as he came off the bench. The Austria international almost put Leeds 2-1 up after Blackburn’s late equaliser.
Ampadu is a player that could probably play in every defensive position but his presence will be preferred in the middle. But Leeds will be putting square pegs in round holes, if Byram and or Bogle are unavailable.
