What Manor Solomon was spotted doing after Daniel Farke took him off in Leeds United draw with Blackburn

Leeds United remain at the top of the Championship table despite failing to continue their winning streak at Elland Road against Blackburn, despite going in front in injury time.

Frustration was the theme of Saturday’s clash against Blackburn as John Eustace continued his incredible run against Leeds and Farke since the German gaffer arrived at Elland Road back in the summer of 2023.

Eustace now has three 1-0 wins and a 1-1 draw in four games against Leeds and Farke, with Blackburn and Birmingham. Leeds thought they had a 16th win of the season in injury time, after winning a penalty.

It came after a game in which Blackburn frustrated Leeds throughout, with The Whites only really having a few half chances. Brenden Aaronson might have done better with a curling effort after cutting inside.

Manor Solomon was fuming with Daniel Farke after coming off

Solomon meanwhile, was Leeds’ best player until he came off. A gorgeous cross should have seen Dan James score, but somehow he failed to make contact with Solomon’s low effort in the second half.

Tony Dorigo was left stunned when Farke took Solomon off in the 70th minute. Indeed, he reacted by saying “wow” during commentary and now, Jonathan Buchan has shared how Solomon reacted.

Indeed, the BBC Radio Leeds presenter said after full-time that the on-loan Tottenham man was visibly angry at the decision and even “threw his gloves” into the dugout after Farke decided to bring him off.

“Solomon wasn’t happy coming off. Threw his gloves down into the dugout when he came off for people that didn’t see it, he raised his arms and shrugged his shoulders when he found out he was coming off.”

Why did Daniel Farke take Solomon off, and not Dan James?

Farke was right to make substitutions and it was good to see some intent from the German boss. He chose to remove Joel Piroe who did not enjoy his best game, as well as other on-loan star Joe Rothwell.

Losing the Bournemouth left gaps in midfield and allowed Blackburn to counter. However, the decision to take off Solomon over Wales star Dan James is quite astounding, with James not at his best on Saturday.

But, it is still a point against a side that have caused Leeds issues over the last 18 months. They remain top of the Championship table with Burnley failing to beat Stoke, as Sheffield United face Sunderland.
