Club ready to ‘step up’ interest in ‘brilliant’ Leeds United player and he’s ‘keen’ on the move

Leeds United are about to have their resolve majorly tested once again this summer.

The 49ers have already sanctioned one key sale in Archie Gray but are now in a difficult position where they want to keep the squad as strong as possible, while ensuring everyone remains happy.

Leeds are no longer in a position where they have to sell for PSR reasons, but that does not mean interest will just stop in their players.

Despite missing out on promotion, Leeds had one of the youngest and most talented squads in the division last term and so it is no surprise to see a number of their players attracting top-level interest.

However, as mentioned, they will not be forced into selling anyone and any remaining key exits will be done on their terms.

Wilfried Gnonto to Everton update shared

Speaking after Wednesday’s friendly win over Hannover, Daniel Farke once again discussed the topic of transfers in his post-match interview.

Not only did Farke reveal his desire to strengthen both in central midfield and full-back, but he also discussed the futures of Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville.

Gnonto continues to be linked with a move to Everton, while Summerville has a plethora of interest across Europe, and exits cannot be ruled out for both.

And Leeds could be about to face a major test of how determined they are to keep the former, with iNews reporting Everton are set to ‘step up’ their interest.

Everton have all but finalised a loan deal for Napoli’s Jesper Lindstrom but he is not the only wideman they want to sign and Gnonto is next on the list.

It is said Everton have money to spend following the £50 million sale of Amadou Onana to Aston Villa, though there is a belief a deal for Gnonto could be difficult, and they won’t overpay.

What is Gnonto’s stance on a move to Everton

Just like 12 months ago, Gnonto would be keen on a move to Merseyside as he plots a return back to the Premier League.

The ‘brilliant‘ Gnonto did everything he could to force a transfer last summer but was unsuccessful and despite his interest in leaving again, he will not take such forceful action.

Farke says Gnonto has had a brilliant attitude on the training field in pre-season so far and so hopefully if he does stay, his performances on the pitch won’t be impacted.
