Wilfried Gnonto faces a big decision on his Leeds United future this summer.
Gnonto is once again attracting interest from Everton with the two clubs now in talks over a potential transfer, 12 months on from one of the biggest sagas of last year’s window.
Following Leeds’ decision to reject four offers for the 20-year-old, Gnonto handed in a transfer request and even refused to play in three matches, but that did little to deter 49ers Enterprises‘ stance.
Gnonto eventually apologised to Daniel Farke with the Leeds boss making it clear he would not be handed a third chance if he was to repeat something similar in the future.
So, with Everton seemingly at the table again, Gnonto now must decided to approach a potential deal both publicly, and behind-the-scenes.
Whether Gnonto will publicly force Leeds exit
In the wake of his antics last summer, Gnonto is actually said to have separated from his former agent Claudio Vigorelli in a sign he wanted to put it behind him.
At one stage, it had looked like Gnonto would even be signing a new contract at Elland Road, though nothing was ever officially signed.
It now feels unlikely that it ever will with Fabrizio Romano reporting on Monday night that Gnonto would again be keen on a move to Merseyside.
However, according to Team Talk, Gnonto will be approaching this summer’s saga in a different way to he did last year.
The report states Gnonto will not publicly look to push through a move as he is wary of damaging his relationship with Leeds‘ fanbase even more than he did previously.
That said, it has been claimed that Leeds will only entertain offers for players if it is made clear an exit is what they want, and so behind-the-scenes, Gnonto is likely to be pushing.

49ers need to hold firm in fee for Gnonto
Leeds are said to have rejected an offer as high as £25 million last summer and if the Whites are to sell him, it will have to be a similar stance again.
It has been claimed that Leeds are no longer in need of selling to remain compliant with PSR after Archie Gray’s move to Tottenham Hotspur.
As such, in no way do exits for the likes of Gnonto and Glen Kamara provide any on-field benefit to Farke’s squad, and so it is imperative as high a fee as possible is agreed.
If Leeds can get a similar figure to what they rejected a year ago then it should allow them to splash out big on a quality replacement.
