Everton have now seen four offers turned down by Leeds United for Wilfried Gnonto.

That is according to Sky Sports, who report the two clubs have now been in negotiations for over a month now, with Everton’s most recent bid having totalled a package of £25 million.

It is said that offer is inclusive of several add-ons, as well as a sell-on clause, however Leeds are yet to give the green light on any of Everton’s proposals as of yet.

Gnonto is currently training away from the rest of the first team squad at Leeds after refusing to play in each of the last two matches against Shrewsbury Town and Birmingham City.

It is said Gnonto has grown frustrated at Leeds’ refusal to allow him to move to Everton in the wake of the club’s relegation to the Championship.

After making himself unavailable for the two aforementioned matches, Gnonto has been the subject of disciplinary action at Elland Road.

The Whites confirmed in an official statement last Friday his actions would be condemned, while also insisting he will not be sold in this window.

Daniel Farke also reiterated that stance in his pre-match press conference earlier today, stating Leeds are in a good position to keep him despite his desire to leave.

Gnonto still has four years left to run on his current deal at Leeds and the lack of release clause in his contract mean San Francisco 49ers Enterprises can hold out for a big fee.

It certainly feels as though this could be a saga that runs right until the end of the window.
