Brenden Aaronson’s old club have just bid £10m for ‘unbelievable’ Leeds United target

Leeds United are in the mix for a number of signings over the next fortnight as The Whites look to bring in a left-back, a midfielder and a replacement for Crysencio Summerville.

The main focus from The 49ers seems to be on the latter at the moment, with a £15m bid made for Sheffield United-bound Jesurun Rak-Sakyi rejected and ongoing talks to sign Norwich’s Jonathan Rowe.

Other targets are being considered, too. Leeds are said to have made a bid to sign Chelsea’s left-footed defender Bashir Humphreys, though a move to sign Dejan Ljubicic has been shelved due to his price tag.

A new midfielder may be given less priority than the other two positions given Joe Rothwell joined the club on loan from Bournemouth and while Leeds want another, he could fill the gap left in midfield.

Salzburg table third bid for midfielder on Leeds shortlist

One midfielder Leeds have been linked with is Liverpool’s Bobby Clark. The 19-year-old, described as an “unbelievable” target, is attracting many suitors this summer with Daniel Farke keen to bring him in.

Celtic, Rangers and half The Championship are after Clark. But Brenden Aaronson’s old side Salzburg are hellbent on signing Clark with Pep Lijnders manager, after leaving Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp’s assistant.

A report from The Times says Salzburg have returned with a third bid to sign Clark after seeing £6m and £8m offers turned down by Arne Slot’s side. Now, Salzburg are said to have made a £10m offer for Clark.

Leeds should pursue a deal for Clark but only on one condition

There is no doubting that Clark is a top talent. But he is very inexperienced and has never played in the Championship, and Leeds are already a very young side with know how required to gain promotion.

Farke has alluded to it in the past, saying Leeds lack a player like Ipswich skipper Sam Morsy. The other question regarding a move for Clark is that he is more of an attacking midfielder, rather than a deep one.

It looks as if Salzburg are going to get a deal done for Clark but if he does move to Leeds, Farke will have to alter his side to some degree in order to incorporate the attacking midfielder at Elland Road.
