Leeds United made a few late moves for some centre-backs in January.
The Whites only ended up making one signing during the window as Connor Roberts filled their need for a right-back, joining on loan for the rest of the season from Burnley.
Anyone who arrive at Elland Road last month was always going to find it difficult to force their way into Daniel Farke’s starting XI and Roberts has found that to be the case, though that does not mean he hasn’t made a big impact.
It also did not stop Leeds from launching moves for a few centre-backs, with Harry Souttar, Ben Godfrey and Joe Worrall among those Nick Hammond and co tried, but failed to bring in.
Another option Leeds are said to have looked at is Newcastle United’s Paul Dummett and after no deal materialised, journalist Joel Bland is now reporting he will leave St. James’ Park on a free in the summer.

Transfer insider Dean Jones reported on deadline day that Dummett was an option that cropped up late for Leeds, and was a possibility if they saw value in it.
However, it would appear that a deal never really got off the ground as the 32-year-old ended up staying at Newcastle, where he has played just four minutes of Premier League football this season.
It is said that the Magpies have made the decision not to offer him a new contract at the end of the campaign after he took a pay cut last summer to extend his time at the club by one more year.
Even despite him set to be available on a free, it feels unlikely this is someone Leeds will look to revisit, regardless of whether they get promoted to the Premier League or not.
Dummett has barely kicked a ball in any of the last three seasons for Newcastle and that is not really the direction Leeds’ new owners have tried to go in, in terms of signings so far.
