Noah Okafor will be looking to keep Gaetano Berardi’s run going

Noah Okafor’s arrival at Leeds United comes with high hopes, and one statistic suggests he is perfectly placed to continue a unique club legacy.

As Opta’s Jonny Cooper highlighted, the club is unbeaten in its last 31 league matches that have featured a Swiss player, a remarkable run of form.

This impressive streak began with the much-loved Gaetano Berardi, who featured in 19 of those games. More recently, Isaac Schmidt was involved in a further 12 matches, with the team remaining undefeated throughout his appearances.

As the new Swiss representative in the squad, Okafor will be hoping to extend this incredible run.

Given his reputation as a ‘last-minute hero,’ the new forward possesses the goalscoring prowess needed to ensure the club’s positive fortunes continue with a Swiss star on the pitch.
