Leeds United have finally confirmed the signing of Noah Okafor from AC Milan with The Whites paying the Italian giants a fee in the region of £18m for the Switzerland attacker.
The 25-year-old attacker has put pen to paper on a four-year deal at Elland Road after leaving Milan, which will see the former Salzburg and Basel attacker remain in Yorkshire until the summer of 2029.
Okafor has endured a difficult couple of seasons at Milan and is now looking to get his career back on track, managing just 54 appearances for Milan since he joined the club from Salzburg back in 2023.
A failed loan at Napoli came during the second half of the season, but an impressive pre-season with Milan has convinced Leeds. Okafor starred against Leeds and netted a brace in a 4-2 win over Liverpool.
Noah Okafor watched Leeds United beat Everton on Monday
Leeds’ ninth signing of the summer has done his first interview with Bryn Law for LUTV, and informed the commentator that he was watching Leeds play against Everton at Elland Road, which ended in a 1-0 win.
Lukas Nmecha scored a penalty and Okafor told LUTV that he was delighted to see Daniel Farke’s side create so many chances against Everton, while also declaring himself “really happy” to see Leeds win.
“I watched it, so many shots and chances, so happy to see them score in the 86th minute, really happy. It is always good to start with three points in a season. We have to keep moving forward, have to be ready.”
What does Noah Okafor signing mean for Leeds wingers?
Finally, Leeds replace Manor Solomon. The Israeli ace chose to return to Tottenham after his loan at Leeds and that has not gone to plan, with Solomon injured and finding himself way down the pecking order.
Okafor comes in and will be expecting to start, given he is a 24-time Switzerland international that has played for Milan, and Napoli. Farke will have to pick between Dan James and Willy Gnonto on the right.
Jack Harrison and Largie Ramazani will be looking over their shoulders. More so, Ramazani, after Harrison came on against Everton and Ramazani didn’t. It might be that Ramazani will have to consider a loan.
