The latest update coming out of Leeds United is bad news for Largie Ramazani

Reports emerged on Sunday evening that personal terms have been agreed between Leeds United and a new attacker, could this be bad news for Largie Ramazani?

Earlier in the transfer window when Leeds were looking to sign Igor Paixao, Ramazani gave an honest verdict on this pursuit. The arrival of Paixao, despite the fact it fell through, would have pushed Ramazani further down the pecking order at Elland Road.

Thankfully for Ramazani, this signing never happened, and he shone during Leeds’ pre-season fixture versus Manchester United.

Towards the end of last season, Ramazani posted a cryptic message on social media after being an unused sub against Preston, showing he is hungry to play.

Despite all this, it does appear Ramazani is falling down the pecking order yet again, with the likes of Jack Harrison, Willy Gnonto, Dan James ahead of him. Now another player’s incoming arrival could push him down even further.

Noah Okafor’s arrival spells trouble for Largie Ramazani at Leeds

Okafor was on the pitch for AC Milan during their friendly versus Leeds in Dublin a few weeks ago, and the Yorkshire side will have likely been keeping a close eye on him.

The attacker took advantage of Isaac Schmidt’s lack of awareness, another player who could soon depart Elland Road, and reports now say that personal terms have been agreed to sign Okafor before the summer deadline.

Largie Ramazani, who joined Leeds in 2024 from Almería, has primarily played as a winger and his versatility to play on both the left and right sides of the attack is a valuable asset.

However, Okafor’s ability to play across the front line, combined with his recent experience at top-tier clubs like AC Milan and Red Bull Salzburg, suggests that he will be a strong contender for a starting position.

This could reduce Ramazani’s playing time and make it more difficult for him to secure a regular place in the team.

Largie Ramazani may regret not accepting Aris Thessaloniki loan

Largie Ramazani was a bit part player for Leeds United last season, playing 782 minutes for Leeds United in the 2024/2025 Championship season, compared to Dan James who played 2,616 minutes.

Following Ramazani’s £10m arrival from Spanish side Almeria, he started seven matches last season and played 29 games.

Despite that, he managed to chip in with six goals and two assists across the season as Leeds United won the Championship title.

Now though, The Athletic have reported that Ramazani has turned down the chance to leave Leeds United this summer. Beren Cross writes that Greek outfit Aris Thessaloniki ‘would be open to a loan deal with an option’ to buy Ramazani, but that the Leeds man has knocked back Aris’ move, along with moves from other European clubs.

It seems as if Ramazani is keen to represent Leeds United in the Premier League next season, despite the ongoing influx of players who may push him further down the selection order.
