Largie Ramazani gives his honest verdict on Leeds United looking to sign Igor Paixao

Daniel Farke will have to use Largie Ramazani in more capacity at Leeds United after last season.

Ramazani didn’t have the best first year at Elland Road, with his game time very limited at Leeds.

Farke hasn’t been happy with Ramazani at times, which might explain why the 24-year-old has struggled to secure a place on the wing.

The winger does have the quality as fans have been desperate for Ramazani to start, and the hope is that he will get more of a chance next season, especially with Ramazani ‘flying’ in pre-season.

However, with Leeds interested in Igor Paixao, this hands Ramazani a blow in terms of his chances next campaign, and the Belgian has weighed in on what he thinks of the links to Paixao.

Largie Ramazani’s verdict on Leeds United wanting Igor Paixao

Ramazani certainly gave Farke a picture of what he was missing on the final home game of the season after he scored a brace vs Bristol City, and alongside this, he’s scored some expert finishes.

After his £10m transfer from Almeria, much was expected of the former Man United attacker, and he has shown his ability on many occasions.

Farke trusts Ramazani, so this could certainly be his season to shine in the Premier League, but Paixao joining provides an obstacle.

If the tricky Brazilian winger joins in what is expected to be a £30m deal, Ramazani goes further down the pecking order, and speaking to Leeds Live, the winger has given his thoughts on Paixao’s potential arrival.

Asked about whether such transfer talk in Paixao gives him anything to worry about, Ramazani said: “No, I think it’s great to have some competition in the team, and then we just push every single player.

“Whether it’s a winger, striker – no matter what position you just play, we’ll just push each other. I have to prove myself and see where it goes.”

Ramazani wasted his chance against Man United for Leeds

The winger has time in pre-season to prove to Farke why he deserves a chance in the Premier League.

After one game, he showed promising signs, but there is still a glaring attribute he needs to improve.

This being his finishing in one-on-one situations, as Ramazani had a golden opportunity to score against his former side in the pre-season opener, but he wasted it (10:30).

His overall performance looked dangerous, and he proved a threat, but if he can’t improve this aspect, Farke won’t be able to give him the chance.

Ramazani lost in the 24/25 season, but what Farke can’t criticize him on is his brilliant attitude as the winger always seems to be the life of the party, and he deserves his chance despite this frustrating display.
